Present Dave Norcross, Ginny Comstock, Charles Gallagher,
Doug Gallagher, Madelyn Quinlan, Shirley Hamblen,
Matt Powers, Chris Anderson, Steve Doran, Gunther
Kleeburg, Mary Rockwood, Alfred Buse, Dick Robbat,
Steve Politi, Steve Moore.
The meeting was called to order at 7 10 P.M in the
library of the First Baptist Church, May 9, 1974
The completed questionnaires were returned to the Youth
Commission and discussion was raised as to the best method of
tabulating the answers It was suggested that Mrs. Falconer
of the high school be asked to be a consultant in the final
tabulation. In a brief examination of the questionnaire, many'
trends seem to already have appeared i.e. the need for some
sort of social center, the lack of summer sports that continue
throughout the summer vacation, and the general lack of sports
for girls
The selection process for next year's Commission members
was briefly discussed. I was felt that a greater youth representa-
tion would augment the Commission's activities and produce greater
participation There was some question as to the actual selection
process, whether it should be through the school principal or
an interview by students.
The topic of a town governeent course for high school AmImAceE
students was again brought up. The Commission would like to re-
examine this proposal for possible implementation in the next
school year This course would enable young en people to express
their views to the different town bodies.
The meeting was adjourned at 8 20 P.M .
Respectfully submitted,
Ginny Comstock
