The following members of the "oard were present, 'iessrs. Hutchinson, ?Joulton, Iviiles, Custance and Burnham. The Supt, of Public ',forks and .Clerk were present. Hearing was held upon the petition of the `'dison Elec. Ill. Co. for permission to place 44 Poles on Lowell Street for the purpose 6f installin; street lights. No persons appeared to object and it was voted to grant permission. Application for a gasoline filling station was received from Luigi 1''errazzano of 15 ''."altham St, Lexington to sell 1000 gallons of gasoline at his premises. The Board refused the application and decided not to hold a hearing on the same. Letters were received from Flynn and Flynn, Attorneys of 'daltham, in which they claimwages for George '''biting, Thomas `:`biting and _�hil.ip li. Nelles, former employees of the Fire Department. The letters were handed to To,. -in Counsel, Sydney R. 7,9rightington for his attention. License to sell Denatured Alcohol was granted to the Standard Oil Co, of 169 :crass, tivenue. Complaint against Clarence '. L:acPhee of Oak Street was made by Edlvard J. Perkins of 75 T,ayette St. Cambridge,' ".ass. IIe claimed that horses were rept in r,,hat was supposed to be a garage and that the stench ,vas such that it injured his chance to build or sell his pro-)erty. The Supt, of "ublic '•'.�orks was requested to look into the matter. The question of :✓nether or not a Common Jictualler's License 'should be granted to Hiram '1. ;Mite to do business at 445 ',:ass. Avenue, the Lunch Cart, was brought up. Statements of character were made and the board decided to leave it to the judgment of Ir. After talking the matter over with the Board and blr, ""right_ ington, Town Counsel the Hoard left it in the hands of ':Ir. Duffy to consult ;with the Town Counsel and to draw up something to present to the Legislature so that the Board may have more com- plete authority at the present time. The matter of naming streets was also brought up and "r. Duffy was requested to get together with rir. Scamman and Mr. Greeley to see what might be done in the matter. It was decided to request the Planning Board to make a study Of the situation of a connecting street or an extension of Lrcadia :,venue to connect lvith Lowell Street. T• -Tr. Duffy also brought before the Board the matter of increasing the assessment for sewer. TIe felt that the Act should be amended so that the cost would be at least X1,00 per running foot instead Of W at the present. The matter was considered but no definite action taken. The Supt. of Public 0orks reported that ""illiam Andrews a former resident of TIighland avenue desired to know whether or not he could recover the amount of money spent for a water pipe in ' Highland Avenue, The question of reserving a school house lot on-''altham Street or in the vicinity of Allen Street was talked over with Mr. Duffy and he stated that '-.is Board would consider the matter at an early date.
