x meeting of the Board of Selectmen war held in the Selectmen's
koom, Town Hall, Lexington, on Tuesday, February 24. 1925, at
8 P. i The follo,�,ing members of the board were present: 1,ererr.
Burnham, Curtance and.:oulton. The Supt. of Public ;Yorks and
Asst Town clerk were also present.
i:r, watimer Se.::ver of 576 Maps. nve., came before the Board. on
behalf of the Unitarian Layman's League and requested permi-rsion
to have an entertainment at the Unitarian Church Society, on
Sunday, %larch 22nd, 1925.
The bourd aprroved and granted permission as far as they were
concerned to have the entertainment given.
The application of Eleanor Li. Tenney of 131 Mare. Ave.
Lexington for a gasoline filling station war refined b;r the
Board.
A11plication -�rar received from Abraham fiolicker of 19 Francis
Street, uiraltham, Pdase. for a junk license for the year 1925.
Upon investigation it was found that this man has been con-
victed for selling liquor in Naltham three times, and it was
therefore decided not to grant him a licence.

I11. Co. to attach to four poles of the 11. E. T. T. Co. on
Plainfield Street.
Application for a Second Iilase -,-;gents License was made by
L. Bucyq'R. Luciano of 123 Maps. Ave.
After inquiring about the man the Board found that it would
be all right to grant him a permit providing the Zoning Law
did not prohibit it.
A First Class +.gent's License for the rale of Chevolet L:otor
�,o. care at 34 Bedford St. was granted to 1:r. Fred 3. Bartlett.
Several applications were received for the position of Chief
of Police, but no action war taken on came,

The samples pacsed the test for the Grade A milk anddif the
Board had no objection Lir. Prentiss stated that he would grant
the licence.
Discussion was held in regard to obtaining a site for a school
house on _�Taltham Street or Allen Street near `Taltham Street.
It was suggested that if property war bought now it would
be obtained au much lesp than if bought when actually needed.

the Clerk was instructed to have the Enaineer make a Wood
sketch of the land in question :..nd the Board would then later �
get figures and take the matter up with the appropriation
Committee. '
The Board also diecuseed the matter of hdvingHighland
Avenue/made a public r-treet and decided to proceed with the
idea In mind.
The Board placed $155.000 on the nigh School and additions,
$35,000 being place with Edwin B. 'rtrorthen, $600000 being placed
with Geo. Taylor x Son and $90,000. Various amounts will
be placed with other agents as soon as the building increases
in value.
Application for aid in the form of rent and groceries
was received from the Dickinson family of Cedar Street near
Denver Street. The family are in gears and have been ordered
out for non payment of rent. The Board decided therefor to
pay one or two months rent until the family received enough
revenue to pay the rent themselveP.
