A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held in
the Selectmen's Room, 'Town dull, Lexington, on 'Puesday,
Augupt 12, 1924 at 8 P. u . The following members of the Board
were present; namely luesere. Burnham, Moulton, Cuetance and
Liles. The Xec't Town Clerk was also present.
hearing was declared open upon application of C. F. tulle
of Concord Avenue for permission to erect a public garage on
his premises.
11r. Mille appeared for hie petition and brought with him a
letter from Lre. luary C. Litchell in which she stated that she
had no objection to the garage being erected,
Application of Gilliam J. Dailey for a slaughter license
was refused by the board.
Application for a peddlers license for Theodore liheffres,
28 6ylvia St. was signed by the Board.
application for a peddlers license for Lichael A. Pero, Jr.
wan signed so that Charles G. Richardel,license could be trans-
ferred to him.
Application for a Common Victualler'e License was made by '
B. 4. .Feeney of Woburn to do business at 229 Lase. Ave.
Lexington.
This application was held up pending investigation by the
Ohief of Police.
Petition of the Edison Electric Illuminating Company
to attach its wires and fixtures to the existing poles of the
Middlesex and Boston Street Railway on Massachusetts tivanue
opposite Lisbeth Street, one pole, 51277.
Request was received from Michael Carroll for a permit to
sell vegetables from a road side etand on Y+altham Street. The
Board informed rim that they could not grant any license for the
sale of vegetables on Sundays.
The application of lure. Lillian J. Pratt, of 11 Packard Ave.,
Somerville for permission to have a Oommon Victualler's License
was refueed.
Letter was received from the Town

Mr. James Irwin reported that he was unable to collect
' dog licenses and the Chief of Police. Edward Leuvitt, was
therefor appointed to collect the licenses.
Applications for boarding infants were signed for
Kre. Elizabeth -Ourton of Francis St. and Lire. Alice Frost of
Allen Street.
Lir. Burnham reported that the Grand army were to meet
at the buckman Tavern -.on Thursday afternoon and asked that
the Selectmen meet with them. at 4 o'clock.
kr. Burnham reported that Wilber F. Atwood agreed to
resign his position as Director of Home Economics for the
position of negietrar-of Voters.
The Board signed the Warrant for the State Primary
to be held September 9. 1924.

Aid was requested by A.�elia Holdway of+goburn St. It
having been found that she obtains $10 from her husband, and
that she could earn considerably moret it was decided not to
grant her any aid.
Letter was received from Jay U. Richards, "gent for the
London Guarantee & "ccicent Ins. Co. in regard to the claim
of Arthur Goeeom, employee of the town who fell from a team
on March 10th and who is still in the i4aee. Homeopathic Hospital
and has not received compensation.
It was decided that the Supt. of Public Works should
go to see Goeeom and explain to him that he would have to make
a claim to the Industrial Accident Board for his injury.
