MINUTES The minutes of August 22, August 29, and September 5, 1974,
were approved as published
CORRESPONDENCE A letter from the GMG Club of Wollaston regarding par-
ade participation. Mrs Litchfield will respond; Mr Brenchick will send
a float entry form to them
LBC MEETING of SEPTEMBER 11 Chmn Barnes attended this meeting and said
that representatives from Concord had been present for discussions After
their departure, the LBC approved consideration of a luncheon sponsored
jointly by the two towns; TCC members agreed with This idea, in principle,
provided arrangements and cost allocations could be worked out. It was
suggested that either the Officers Club at Hanscom Field or the Minute Man
School cafeteria might accommodate the number of participants involved.
Chmn. Barnes also noted that he had a single copy of the guest list pre-
pared by Mr. Politi. for LBO use; Mrs Mitchell will obtain additional
copies for the TCC. Full copies of Concord' s proposed guest list will be
needed, in addition.
FLOAT MEETING Mr. 3. vs1.,Tx._ _ distributed copies of the letter which he
will send to groups which may well be interested in parade participation;
Mrs. McGonagle will submit an article to the Minute Mara.
PARADE PARTICIPANTS Mr Broderick submitted copies of letters and
forms which will be mailed to 1) organized marching units and 2)
civic and fraternal organizations having revised Chmn Barnes' drafts
of September 5' The TCC enthusiastically approved this material and
attempted to delineate those local civic and fraternal groups which
should be contacted. Names of some organized marching units which have
marched previously were added to Mr. Flynn's list of Senior "A" CYO
groups. Mr. Flynn has made a preliminary contact with many of .hose
groups, is planning to contact a number of drill teams and will give
his information to Chief Marshal Broderick
ACTIVITIEb ORGANIZATION Mn Robert Camp presented material , some of
which has already been used by the LBO, to the TCC so that committee mem-
bers would have some idea of the procedures which could be followed in
the attempt to ha B_ nlienni.al workload most effectively Steps
involved in formulation of this working plan, he suggested, would be as
follows
1. Arrange sequence of events
2. Organize areas of responsibility
3 Define happenings in; events
4. Schedule of requirements ( work backwards from April)
5 Coordinate work e_forts
6 Integrate into a single operational plan.
Mr . Camp also noted that projected and actual costs could be assigned to

each area with relative ease, since the dissection of happenings in
events would. provide a clear piCtuie of teairements The TOO agreed
with the loci of the presentation and asieed that ,`Na Camp attempt to

Also noted -eas the TCC policy decision that, aside from the invited
military units, marching groups to be invited will be those for which no
overnight accommodations will be neer sexy If local groups wish to
invite units from a further distance; i.e. , the LOS Band Exchange Band
and the Nutmeg Junior Volunteers which have been sponsored by the Elks
in past years , accommodations will be the responsibility of the sponsoring
organizations, not the TCC
VETERANS DAX The 1973 Parade Rogter was zeviewed, all groups which
participated at that time will be invited to do so again; in addition,
the secretaries will contact the Hayden groups,, the Boy Scouts, ,ii the
Lexington Pemolay Mrs McGonagle said that 6he Red Cross wagon would
be available if placed in the line of march preceeding the horse club
Consideration of :individual participants in ceremonies at the
Battle Green resulted n agreement that Mrs McGonagle should contact
the Administrator o.i the Bed.eord VA Hospital with the request that he
4 be speaker of the day. Mrs Litehuield will ask that Chrnn itenney read
the Governor ' s Proclamation; she will also request that a custodian
be prepared to open Cary Memorial. Hall and set up a microphone should

Parade assembly time will be set +'o. 9 30 aemo at Munroe School
on October 28, 1974 The VFW will be asked to appo nt a Chief Marshal
and Aides for the parade
