AUGUST 22 MEETING As this meeting was attended by Chmn Barnes, Mrs
Litchfield, and Mrs. Mitchell, no actions were taken other than a brief
review of agenda items to be considered at the joint LBC-TCC meeting
the following week.
However, Mrs. Litchfield reported that she had, with the aid of
the Comptroller's office discovered that the apparent disagreement be-
tween her records of the TCC expenses for the past year and the statement
sent from that office vas due to the inclusion of charges for custodians
fees on April 1% 1974. The account via approved by the School Committee
and, had been paid from TUC funds without the knowledge or approval of
either Chmn Bar'nee or the full Committee
FLOAT PARTICIPANTS WOEKSHOP Mr„ Brenchick noted that it might be
necessary to esehedule this meeting; he will make necessary arrange-
ments with Mr. Bogk., and will coordinate suitable publicity with Mrs.
McGonagle,
DRAFT LETTER TO GOVERNORS Mr Gaughan reported that lie had done some
further research regarding our responsibilities it. the LBO should be
willing to invite governors and/or marching units from the other original
colonies to march in the Bicentennial afternoon parade. The committee
agreed that we would abandon the idea of limiting large groups but would
still discuss invitations for the Governors with the LBC Mr Gaughan.
also volunteered to assist Mrs. Litchfield as TCC representative for the
LBC invitations subcommittee
POST-PARADE RECOPTION The committee agreed unanimously to recommend to
the LBC that a post-p.•rade reception. be held. During the joint meeting
which followed, alternLtive sites and financial arrangements were dis-
cussed, with LEC action on the matter being tabled until the next meeting
in order that additional information might be gathered
PARADE PARTICIPANTS M: . Flynn provided copies of a list of outstanding
area Drum Corps to TCC members for consid a.tion. as marching units; Mrs.
Mitchell noted that she had seen several of these grog jis at the CYO con-
test at BC Stadium eari.ier in the month Mr.. Flynn. will also obtain a
list of outstanding d.ril.l teams for TCC rise.
After a brief discussion of fraternal organizations which. may
wish to participate in the Bicentennial jarad.e, the committee agreed
that invitations 'or these groups would be e:;tended through the Lensing ep
ton chapters which may wish to .r.cl.ude state officers among their
co
marcheis, as well as drill teams, bands, etc
