MEETING. JUNE 10. 1924.
A regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held
in the Selectmen's Room, Town halls Lexington, on Tuesday.
June 10, 1924, at 8 P. M. The following members of the Board
were present; namely, Messrs. Burnham. nutchineon, Custance and
Miles were present. The `Town clerk was also present. .
Hearing was declared open upon application of William G.
Murphy of 25 Mass. "venue, for permission to maintain a public
garage at Bow Street, Lexington.
No persons appeared to object and it was therefore
voted to grant the permit.
Another hearing was held on the petition of Warren S.
Griswold for approval of lay out of Section 4.
The petitioner and abutting reeidente were again present.
The Board decided to consult the Town counsel on the
matter before approving any plane.
The Town Treasurer was authorized to borrow $50,000 in
anticipation of revenue.
The petition of the Edison Electric Ill. Co. for one
pole -'on Waltham Street, the third south of forest Street, was
granted. This is an attachment order to attach to pole of the
N. E. T & T. Co.
In regard to the -extra police protection requested by
residents, the Board decided to insert an article in the Warrant
asking for an additional appropriation for the Police Department
of $2000 for this purpose.
The Board voted to appoint Henry Harvey of Muzzey St.
Lexington as a regular police officer of the town.
The Board received a petition from the residents of
Grove Street for electric lights on said street.
The Board authorized the Supt. of Public 6orks to order
lights on this street.
Permission war grahted to Howard M. Munroe of Lowell
Street to drive his cows to pasture along the highway, in accordance
with the By -Laws,

Mr. Fred B: Bartlett, owner of the bowling alleys, wap
granted permission to put in a pool table in the bowling alleys
during the warn weather when the bowling alleys season is dull. '
