Morgan., Brig„ Gen Philip N Larson and Major General Hollis Copies of letters sent by the Town. Manager to Department Reads Mr„ Brig;ws, and Mr. Tarlin, which. expressed both his and TCC appreciation Ler' their part in the success of Patriots Day, were also read. In response to a memo .freta Mr. Tarlin regarding participation in the Bicentennial Parade by the Freedom High Scheel Baud of Betanleshem, Pa. , the TCC will inform Mr. Gillespie of the High r$cheol that we would be most pleased to include this exchange guest band as a part of our celebration, A note fr©m Mrs Cornelius Cronin regaediixg possible preseittatien of a flag by Congressman Cronin in 1975 was read. It was noted that there had been nes reply from the Congressman yet regarding Memorial Day. Charon. Barnes read a copy of a note from Mr. Lord to the Board. of Selectmen. saying that he would be unable to accept reappointment to the TCC. The news was heard with great regret by the committee; later, it was suggested that the Names of Edward Turner and Lawrence Whipple be submitted to the Selectmen for consideration ..,. ":, 3, the vacancy. The Chairman noted that he had contacted Mr. Frank Samuel regarding participation in Town ceremonies; Mr. Samuel wil] be willing to help en' courage the Boy Scouts to become mere active during the Bicentennial year. MEMORIAL DAY The committee reviewed arrangements made thus fax; Mrs. Litchfield. will contact members of the clergy; M_ . Lord has invited the LHS Band to participate and will, if the TCC wishes, continue to act as liason with the High School in the future„ Final arrangements should be completed by Thursday, May 16 so that the' ,parade rester may b' completed at that time. Mrs. Mitchell noted that Mrs. Glennets had ordered, with appreva'l of the Town Manager, the traditional large cemetery wreaths and bouquet; 1 additional wreath to place at the new Korea-Vietnam memorial at Cary Hall has also been ordered. There will be no wreaths for individual graves. The TCC will be responsible for contacting Carlson°s Florists regarding a pick-up on Sunday, May 24, PATRIOTS DAY The chairman briefly reviewed the joint LBC-TCC meeting for those members who were unable to be present; it was noted that additional joint meetings were now scheduled for the last Wednesday of each month On May 16,, the TCC will review beth estimated and actual expenses for 1974 in detail. BICENTENNIAL Chmn. Barnes announced. that he had asked Mrs. Litchfield to reserve room at the Visitor's Center for Thursday evenings in June, in the hope that discussi©n of the 1975 parade rester and staff could be completed before a July-August TCC summer break. A tentative roster should be made up around Lab©r Day, and arrangements for units other than the mil- itary should be complete by January 1, 1975.
