CORRESPONDENCE Patriots Day regrets have been received from Congressman Cronin
(who will be out of the country); Capt, Paul A. Lutz will be present to represent
the First Coast Gua-^d Dietrict, The Chaim-lean has extended an invitation to Gene
and Mrs, Shiely to join us also
Chmn. Barnes read a letter from LBC Chairman Kingston Howard. announcing a
meeting to be held on Tuesday April. 2, a` 3 30 p,m, at the Visitor's Center,
Food planning and food service will be discussed.
The chairman also distiibuted copies of the minutes of the February meeting
of the Joint Services Bicentennial Coordinatin, Committee
In response to a request from the Grotto Oriental Band (Malden Square aid
Compast ) et was agreed that their unit must march the full afternoon parade
route. If they feel unable to do son the TCC agreed that they should he with-
drawn from the 'aster, Mrs Litchfield will so inform them,
PARADE STAFF- Chief Marshal Leahy announced that two additional Aides had been
appointed by the Division 3 Marshal.

He also noted that there were two corrections necessary in the parade staff listing
which accompanied the minutes of March 21 First Division Aides are
LCDR Joseph Steinkrauss and
M, Sgt, David H. Bean
Mrs, Litchfield will contact. k s Harris of the Girl Scouts to request names of
the girls who will serve as aides
FLOATS Mr, Brenchick reported briefly on the successful float co,'structien
workshop. Attendees found Mr Bogk to be most helpful. In addition, Mr. Bren-
chick noted that Patriot Ford had asked that they be allowed to enter an an-
tique automobile and that the owner of the Minute Nan Racing Car wished to
transport his cal in the afternoon parade, The committee agreed that both en-
tries would be allowed.
Following a welcome announcement by Mr, Tarlin that both the Kiwanis Club
and the Lexington Bicentennial Corporation planned. to have float entries, the
traditional drawing to determine float entry parade position was held,
\`IGENERAL Fiske Hill ceremonies are still indefinite as there has been no work
from the Minuteman Council of Boy Scouts
The TCC agreed that Mr, Fitzgerald should contract for bunting for decoration
of public buildings at a fee of $275
Cary Hall is unavailable for the post-parade reception, Mr. Gaughan and
Mr. Fitzgerald will continue in efforts to complete arrangements :%or this event,
C.hmn, Barnes again led the comm:,ttee in a review of the expenses anticipated
for Patriots Day, Re rm rtioned that he had mage several contacts regarding the

assumption of specific expenses; Mr., Ta:.lin noted that the LBC had already
requested that money available in the LeRoy S. Brown Fund be held for the
Bicentennial Chmn Ba,..;.es will continue his efforts to encourage assumption
of some costs, either. for Patriots Day or for Memorial flay, outside the TCC
budget.
Mrs. McGonagle note that she has sent the program of events to the
Mayor's Office. City of Boston. and „nuid be in contact with Mrs. Scigliano
of the Lexington_ Minute Man regarding the format of the Patriots Bay information
which would be rixbl.ished..
Mrs. McGonagle has also ordered luncheon favors at a considerable dis-
count over the listed sales price
Mrs. Mitchell will ask Mrs. Hall, previous TCC member, to recall, if
possible, seating arrangements used at previous luncheons.
Mr. Brenchick was not able to purchase wigs; they have been rented again
this year.
The balance of the meeting was spent in preparation of parade rosters.
Chief Marshal Leahy, Chief of Staff Turner, and the TCr agreed that the MS
Band should be asked to serve as staff band. Chief Marshal Leahy and Chief
of Staff Turner will be responsible for making arrangements regarding the
movement of parade participants to the reviewing stand.
