Guests present were John T Kavanaugh, Robert J Harrigan and Norman F
Daigle of the Lexington Minute Men who wore there to discuss their participa-
:ion in the April 19th ceremonies
The reenactment of the battle will take place at 5 30 a.m. The men of
Lexington formed on the Green a:nd marched to the Lincoln line where they de-
feated the British, nccordinL, to a letter in the town records This letter will
be read by a woman at the burial. ceremony Meantime, action would go on. The
Green would then be '.eft empty The Minute Men will have as many helpers as
required by the TCC
Chmn. Beenes asked if there would be any Chan±ee from last year The only
change or addition mill be walkie talkies, suitable concealed, to coordinate
activity, lie also asked if the Minute Nen would be interested in supplying
Paul Revere for the midnight ride in 1974. They were receptive to this; will
look at records of the last midnight ride which was in 1950 and review require-
ments
This year the Menute Men will honor Sex Turcott.
China Barnes suggested another raeetinr; with representatives of the MM
before plans are completed for 1974„
TOG. then discussed formation of the parade -- from Lexington High School
at Waltham St. and Worthen Rd. ; route to be the same as last year. The recep-
tion following the afternoon parade in 1974 will be at Heritage Hall on Bedford
St. where there is ample parking pace
Marshals for the '74 parade were discussed. Bill Fitzgerald suggested
selecting three who would thus gain experience that would. prepare them for °75
along the new rout, initiated last year Leo Gaughan suggested Capt James J
Leahy, USER It was mentioned that there should be a sufficient number of mar-
shals to spot them alone the parade route. These past marshals were named to
be considered for 1974 and 1975 Joueph Rooney, James Briderick, Neil (Cornelius)
Cronin, Edward Turner The Comm: ttee aE;reed to ask Capt Leahy to be Chief
Marshal for 1974. Once he is invited and accepts the chief of staff and division
marshals will be asked.
Eleanor Litchfield is continuing to send invitations to bands For high
school bands a donat_.on of 550.00 plus transportation is offered. She will
write a letter to Donald Gil_esp:ie inviting the Lexineton .High School Band to
participate
January 10 scheduled meeting cancelled because 01 inclement weather.

Chmn, Barnes suagosted consideration of an outstanding high school stu-
dent as chief marshal of the morning parade; this Dared° could be made a
means of honoring the young psople in town.
The next item was the theme for. 1974. Leo Gaughan had several sugges-
tions, some of them from a student

Chun. Barnes reported receiving a tette: irmaMr Doak regarding floats, Mr
Bog, has plane for tnsilding floats and in willing to run workshops he re-
quested a float application and a copy oz the rules Mrs Litchfield will
respond
