TOWN OF LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS CONSERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES of Commission meeting of September 4, 1973. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Dr, Kessler, at 8 03 p.m. , with the following Commission members and Associates present Mesdames Frick, Rawls, Nichols and Solomon, Dr. Friedman, Messrs, Mazerall (ex-officio) and Williams, plus Administrative Assistant David Hughes. The Following others were present (ex- cept for a five-minute meeting of the Recreation Committee ) until 8 35 p.m. only Town Engineer James Chase, Assistant PW/Eng, Di- rector Jerry Martin, Recreation Committee Chairman Richard Wertheim, Recreation Committee members Daniel Buse, Charles Gallagher and Vincent Hayes and Recreation Director Ben Bertini. Haroian land developer has been informed that he should file for a Wetlands Protection Act hearing. (DH) Budget Information meeting was attended by Mrs. Frick on August 29, at which time it was learned that capital expense budgets are due September 1 and operating budgets on September 15. Bicentennial Problems. Commission informed it is to receive a memo from the Planning Board asking for recommendations and requirements for use of conservation for 4 during the bicentennial pear(s ) , beginning ,cam in April, 1975. Recreation Committee pointed out some of the prob-� p g lems and requirements for camping use of land, W.R. Grace, represented this evening by Van Boughton of Lexington, Dan Cobbitt of Whitman & Howard and Edward Cassidy of Bechsto"fer, Hunter, Associates, is preposing to add a small addition to its just-completed existing building (adding about 15 employees, with no additional parking needed) , a 2.-3 story office building and associated additional parking to the margins of the available land. A call complaining about the use of sprays in the existing Johnson greenhouses prompted recommendation that the Commission write Board of Appeals recommending that permit include condition that Applicant adhere strictly to State Pesticide regulations, particularly those dealing with atmospheric conditions under which spraying is permitted. (ESG) Mosquito Spraying techniques and practices discussed briefly. (FF) MACC Meeting of October 27. Commission to request Town Manager's permission for 5 to attend.
