Turner CORRESPONDENCE Chmn Baines read a letter of thanks from former LBC Chmn Kingston Howard, as well as a letter of appreciation from Mrs Robert Ba.ldel.li. of Northboro, Mass. He lso noted that Jo Ann L..ng, of 25 Maple Steeet, had inquired about the Possibility of parade participation in 1976 by a band from Ehret High School of Louisiana A letter from Town Manager halter O'Connell noted that the budget for 1975-76 fiscal year TCG activities would he $5500 a decrease from the TCC request originally submitted This sum of 85500 is :525 less than was spent in fiscal 1974, and specifically excihudes sums for police, fire, and DPW su port Mrs Litchfield said that the committee has nal= sy ent a sum of $166.95 of the $530 specifically allocated for TCC use in fiscal 1975 ; the expenses for Memorial Day should fall well within that sum,. PATRIOTS DAY ; Chmn. Barnes noted that next year would also see a long holiday heekend, and suggested that TCC members consider the possibility of a scheduled activity for Sunuay afternoon in past years, there have been activities, including a muster by the Lexington. Minute Men, a ,perfor— mance by the Linn. Village Drum Band, and a performance by local youth groups. A change of parade route was ,mentioned briefly no decisions were reached MEMORIAL DAY: Committee members reviewed y1ans eithea completed or under way at the resent time Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Litchfield will finish contacting the various youth groups; Mrs Mitchell noted that Mark Doran, ::resident of the LITS Class of 1975 , would recite the Gettysburg Address, and Class Vice—President, Rath Strauss, would read General Logan's creels Col. honald E. Byrne, Jr. of Iianscomb Field, will give the Address of the Day; Mrs McGonagle will arrange for Minute Man ,:u licity. Mr. Turner will contact the C & V' Transportation Company to arrange the bus needed for ceremonies at estvi-nw Cemetery; Mrs. Mitchell will confirm an order for wreaths with Mrs Glennon. MEETING SCHEDULE After discussion, it was agreed that the TCC would not meet until Thursday May 22nd, at which time final arrafgements for the Memorial Day program will be checked. Ars Mitchell hill prepare and Mrs, Litchfield will aid in mailing parade rosters to all participants before that time. The meeting schedule for the remainder of the siring was also discussed, with Chmn. Barnes suggesting that one business meeting and one social meeting would be sufficient 'or this fiscal year.
