PRESENT Vice-chairman Gaughan Ipresiding) , Mrs Litchfield, Mrs McGonagle,
Mrs. Mitchell, Mr. Fitzgerald, Mr Flynn Mr Turner, Mr Iirenchick
CORRESPONDENCE Notice of the upcoming May 1, 1975 TCC LBC joint meeting was
made. Mrs. Litchfield asked that TOC members submit bills to her either for
TCC payment, or for forwarding to the LBC.
It was moved, seconded, and voted that the TCC should pay a bill for
828.71 from Wholesale Electronic Supply for replacement equipment purchased
for use with the TCC public address equipment.
PATRIOTS DAY The TCC members present conducted a brief overall discussion
of a number of topics , including problems with the reviewing stand, busses
which came from Concord, float disassembly (Mr. Brenchick noted especially
that there had been difficulties with horse•) , and escorting of guests The
overall discussions, however, focussed on TCC pleasure at the successful
completion of all of the events of the day,
Mr Gaughan reported on costs of the rece •tion, which will total
approximately $800 to be paid by the Chanber of Commerce; gift distribution
remains incomplete
Special notice was taken of the role played by DPW employees; a letter
of regognition from the TCC will be sent In additiein, joint TCC-LBC letters
should go to Messrs. Richard and Gary Beamon, and Kevin Gaughan, for serving
as drivers for White Tricorne Hat recipients. Letters should also be sent
to the Red Cross First Aid workers and to the Boy Scouts who worked in the
assembly area as aides and as cleaning crew„
Additional recognition, and distribution of certificates of a preciation,
will be brought u, at the May 1 joint meeting.
All TCC members noted the many favorable comments made, both by parade
participants and by-standers. Overall organization was aided immeasurably
by the availab lity of the walkie-talkies; hopefully, similar equipment can
be obtained in future years
Mote was also taken of the use of a small, high, sneaker's platform at
the Rededication ceremonies, with the thought that similar arrangements for
placement of participants at the morning flag-raising ceremonies (i.e.- all
people speaking to remain on the platform during the entire ceremony, and in
full view of the audience) would be desirable.
MEMORIAL DAY Pre emnary arrangements uere discussed, Nay 26 is the date
and the usual format of assembly, time, format, and parade will be used.
It was agreed that Mr. Fitzgerald will ask the Fire Department to marshal
the parade; Mrs. Litchfield and Mrs. Mitchell will contact youth groups for
particivation, as well as veteran's groups and the military. Suggestions
for additional marchers included the Girl Scout Drum Corps, Red Cross Vol-
unteers; TCC members should be prepared to suggest additional groups for
consideration
Speakers considered were Rep. Amick, Sen. Bullock, and. Col Jensen; no
decisions were made and further suggestions may be made.
Mrs. Mitchell reported that Mrs. Glennon, the Veteran's Agent, had re-
quested a TCC decision regarding wreaths to be used prior to May 12. The
preliminary agreement made was that 5 decorated, large wreaths, placed on
stands, plus a single memorial bouquet, would be adequate; however, final
decisions were deferred.
2g 1915 Respectfully submitted,
pPR Ruth M. Mitchell, Recording Sec°y
