MINUTES of the meeting of April 3,: 1975 , were distributed and approved .
CORRESPONDENCE A letter from the Methuer High School Cadet Corps regarding
payment for their bus transportation was received; the TCC agreed that fens
for busses and the Corps would be sent as a single sum.
A letter from the Boston Gas Co. regarding parade participation was'
handled by Float Chairman Brenchick; who notified the company that the
entry deadline had long passed and the parade roster was closed Chmn.
Barnes has notified the First Corps of Cadets of Somerville likewise.
The TCC also considered a letter regarding participation by Miss Massachu—
setts ; sponsors will also be told that the parade roster ie closed.
Correspondence from the office of Consul General Maitland notes that
lie has left Massachusetts; however, arrangements for British representatives
to be in Lexington, in April 19th have been made.
Chmn. Barnes noted that a letter from Ken Blodgett regarding arrange—
ments to he made for parade participation by the White Tricorne Hat recipient
was in hand; Mr. Fitzgerald assured the TCC that all arrangements had been made
Mr Brenchick noted that he had been contacted by others who wish to
enter horses in the parade ; there are to be no more than are presently included.
Be has also made arrangements for parking of the vans used by the Clydesdales
and the Lexington,Kentucky float.
Mrs. Litchfield noted that Fleepo,the Clown, had inquired about placement
of the Happy Toes float; she will contact him.
A letter from the Albion, New York High School Purple Eagles, regarding
ee ible appearance in Lexington in the early part of August, has been received
by Chmn. Barnes. The TCC agreed that this would be feasible; further ar—
rangements will he made later.
R VlLAI.NG STAND; Chmn. Barnes has talked with Chief Corr and the location
and arrangement of both stand and flatbeds hes been set. Discussion of
final arrangements for both flatbeds and chairs e: ' t. and was reviewed also
at the joint TCC—LBC meeting. Mn Flynn will continue to follow up on all
necessary arrangements At the joint meetings it was agreed that the special
seating area should consist of additional space on the reviewing stand.
POST -PARADE RECEPTION Chmn Barnes reported for Mr. Gaughan that the menu
is firm; special details of guest identification, gift distribution, hosting
reseonsibilities , hosting committees; parking and security were discussed
Mr. Gaughan covered these areas at the joint meeting; Mr. Fitzgerald again
noting the parking arrangements made.
TRANSPORTATION Mr, Fitzgerald covered details of Concord—Lexington
U,r. nssortation; cars to be available for White Tricorne Hat recipients ;
movement of guest vehicles and busses; reviewing stand parking and in—
structions to be given to Lexington residents who will be at Heritage Hall

FLOATS Mr. Brenchick announced the judges Elizabeth Mixon from the
Burlington Mall, Leroy Hebert of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society, and
David Tierney of Holyoke. He is making arrangements with Captain Lima for
both pre and post parade vehicle movement and parking He also noted that
all sign, necessary for use in both float and general assembly area and
along the parade route were ready Castuming arrangements for the Spirit
of "76 are complete with exception of wig purchase; rental may be ._ecessary
unless arrangements for partial or full purchase prepayments can be made
by the LBC or= Bicentennial Director Tarlin.
COMMUNICATIONS: Mr Flynn will arrange the placement of a power line from
the Giroux building across Merriam Street; a portable generator and micro-
phone for Fiske Hill ceremonies will be obtained by Chmn Barnes; placement
of speakers on the Green will be handled by Mr. Flynn. Mr. Fitzgerald re-
ported that arrangements previously made with Motorola had been confused
due to a change in personnel there; he will follow through
MORNING PARADE: Mrs Mitchell reported that the rosters were duplicated
and ready for mailing; the Girl Scout Drum Corps will join the parade
at Nunroe School, and she will so notify those who are most directly con-
cerned.
PARADE m AFTERNOON Chief Marshal Broderick reported on the success of
the pre-parade briefing meeting; over 60 percent of the units to march
were represented. Rosters were distributed and changes noted; parade
orders were also distributed. Placement of the Lexington Minute Men
was discussed and a final position assigned at the joint 'TCC-LBC meeting
with Kevin Doyle accepting this position on behalf of the Minute Men.
In response to a question from Mr. Cooper, it was noted that no plans
to feed parade staff were made and that none were being made for the Boy
scouts who are either aides or clean-up staff.
Placement of guest marchers was discussed; at the joint meeting Chmn.
Barnes noted that those guests and Committee marchers who wished to march
could do so; however, they have not specifically been invited and may well
wish to assemble at Heritage Hall and go directly to the reviewing stand
