Barnes, Mrs. Litchfield, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Turner Mr Fitzgerald MINUTES Of the meeting of November 20, 1975, were approved CORRESPONDENCE Mrs Litchfield reported receipt of the marching unit application form from the John Ehret High School Patriots A note ac- companying the form from Band Director Loop noted that the group was well on the way toward raising the funds necessary for their trip. Mrs Litchfield will write to them, adding the comment that their progress is most welcome and that the TCC letter of the past spring does, indeed, constitute the official invitation for participation at no cost to the Town. Mrs Litchfield will also inform LHS Band Director that the group plans to come to Lexington. PATRIOTS DAY - 1976 Chmn Barnes informed the TCC that our suggested nominee for Chief Marshal, Joseph Rooney had accepted the position with pleasure. He will choose his own staff which will, as is the usual practice, be subject to TCC review Mr. Fitzgerald reported that arrangements for TCC use of the John F Kennedy School for a post-parade reception were complete. He said that it would now be proper for the TCC to send a formal re- quest for both use of the Minuteman Regional Technical Vocational echool facilities for the pre- parade lunch and use of staff and •sMdents for preparation and service Mrs Litchfield will write saying that there would be about 80 people to be served, giving times, etc Mrs Litchfield will also write to the President of the LHS Senior Class formally notifying her of the appointment as Chief Mar- shal of the morning parade and asking that she select at least two division marshals, a chief of staff, and such additional staff as needed Mr. Lord will continue to act as consultant to the youth parade staff and marshals. Chmn. Barnes reported on a meeting at Hanscom Field which was also attended by LBC Chmn Cole and Town Manager O'Connell Repre- sentatives of the Concord Public Ceremonies Committee also attended; there is- hope for continued inter-town cooperation in 1976 July 4, 1976 Chmn Barnes said that it is his understanding that the TCC will formally be charged by the Selectmen with responsibility for proper observance of the National Bicentennial Respectfully submitted, Ruth Mitchell , hecording Jec'y The TCC fill meet. on Thursday, Dec. 18, to set up schedules for January and February, work on a choice of parade theme, and attertt to other business The meeting should be brief but all members are asked to make a special effort to attend DEC 16 1975
