This information serves to give the TCC a record of those bills normally
assumed by the TCC which were handled through the LBC in 1975
JOINT LBC-TCC MEETING: at 8 00 p m , the TCC was joined by LBC members
Chmn. Lincoln P Cole, Jr. , Vice-Chmn. Steve Politi, Mrs. Nussdorfer, and
Mr Michelson. There was a short discussion of the present and future
relationshie between the TCC and LBC; Chmn. Cole and his committee mem-
bers explained that the LBC was attempting to wrap up projects which had
been started during the past several years, and although LBC members would
be pleased to offer any assistance possible to the TCC, plans for April
19, 1976 should be completely handled by the TCC
The balance of the joint meeting was devoted to discussion of plans
for July 4, 1976. Chmn Cole noted that such a celebration would pro-
perly fall to the TCC, if so charged by the Selectmen; it was also :noted
that funds for this observance would be needed during fiscal 1976, and
that budget was presently in process of preparation.
The LBC has had some discussion about July 4, 1976; Mr. Michelson
remarked that all had agreed that this should be a strictly local, home-
grown celebration;; Chmn Cole said, and all present agreed, that there
would be no idea of interfering with the traditional Lions Club activities;
anything planned by the TCC would be a supplement It was also agreed
that the Town celebration should take place on Sunday, July 4.
Ideas for the Lexington celebration centered around a small parade,
marchers to be local organizations and groups, perhaps of a makeup sithilar
to that used at the time of the Permanent Flag Raising. This parade
would end at an area suitable for family picnics, there would be some
organized entertainment and ceremonies held at that time and pima so that
families who wished might bring their own food and remain for awhile. The
parade and picnic and program should be scheduled for mid to late after-
noon.
At the close of the discussion, it was agreed that Messrs Cole,
Michelson, Gaughan, and Flynn would request to be heard at the next meeting
of the Selectmen, so es to present preliminary ideas and request planing
and budgetary consideration
Respectfully submitted,
Ruth Mitchell
