HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-03-03-SILC-diss.pdf \ -1y1 SILC SUBREGION INTERTOWN LIAISON COMMITTEE Formes by the towns of March 3, 1975 BEDFORD BURLINGTON Board of Selectmen CARLISLE Planning Board CONCORD Town Hall LEXINGTON LINCOLN SUDBURY WAYLAND WESTON WILMINGTON Gentlemen SILC has successfully confronted the major problem in view when it was founded, --a proposed mid-circumferential highway Subsequently a SILC initiative became established as an independent entity - The Minuteman Regional Refuse Disposal Planning Board (MMRRDPB) SILC has also dealt with such matters as land use, transportation, county organization Planning advisory and review organizations representative of towns and citizens groups have now become an established part of the public plan- ning process For example, there are the Governors Hanscom Task Force involving four towns , legislators, public entities and citizens groups; , and the MMRRDPB involving many towns in a wholly different problem In each instance the composition and organization of these entities is specifically oriented to their functions SILC representatives now believe that future substantive issues can be met effectively without a continuing geographically defined organiza- tion Accordingly at a meeting on February 27, 1975, after consultation with other towns, they voted to disband SILC evi\ __ _ __ Howard M Forbes, Chairman 87 Church Street Weston, Mass 02193 4
