MEETING, MARCH 6, 1923,
All Members Present.
The Board met for the purpose of organizing. The newly
elected members J. Chester Hutchinson for the term of three years,
Fred H. Boulton, for the term of three years and William S.
Scarman, for the term of one year to fill the vacancy caused by
the resignation of Br. Cotton were present.
The Board organized as follows:

,Application for a public carriage stand in front of O'Brien's
restaurant on Mass. Ave. was received from John if. Leary of Waltham
Street.
This application was referred to the Chief of Police for hie
report on same.
Application for soldier's relief from Harriett A. Walcott
of-iialthem was considered.
This women's settlement is in Lexington and as she is now
ill with nervous trouble the Board voted to grant her $10 pr. wk
Soldier's Relief.
In accordance with previous arrangements :miss Gallagher
was appointed to do the visiting for the Overseers of the Poor
Department at the salary of $200 pr. year for the year 19236
General subjects relating to town affairs such as the
Block system for the Assessing; Department, the nuisance caused by
the piggeries in town, fees for slaughter licenses and salaries
of Inspectors of Slaughtering, were discussed by the Board.

fourth Tuesdayrather than each Tuesday.

Several other appointments were
considered,
but were laid
on the table.

The subject of making a sign survey,
that is
placing upon
maps all bill boards, dimensions and exact location
was brought up.
It was the opinion of the Board
that if this
survey trould
be done without interfering with more
important work
of the Town
Engineer'e.department$ the same should
be done.
