HomeMy WebLinkAbout1923-02-2720 MEETING, FEBRUARY 27, 1923. All Members Present. Mr. Neil McIntosh came before the Board in reference to his plane being approved. He stated that the meeting of the Planning Board together with the Selectmen had been called off but that he did not have time to nctify his engineer. He stated that he wanted to be prevent at the meeting of the Planning Board to ex- plain his plans. firs Cotton was informed over the 'phone by Mr. Ballard, Chairman of the Planning Board, that they intended to have a meeting this week. Mr. Duffy was requested to notify Mr. McIntosh when the Planning Board met. A letter from the County Commissioners in reference to pro- podal of the head of the Department of Public Works of the State, Mr. `William F. Williams. being bill #1104 in regard to buildixg a parkway. The County objectato this bill an it will impose a large tax upon them. The letter was referred to Representative Cotton to attend to. Notice was received from the Chief of Police stating that Deputy Chief Maguire war informed that he should pay the Deputy half pay as required in the Police Regulations. ' The Chief was authorized to order 100 copies of the regulations printed. In regard to the desk and chairs for the Police Lepartment, Mr. Blake agreed to purchase same at a much more reasonable price than the one the Chief had looked at. (Feb. 28th - Desk at Ready's Tog Shop purchased by Mr. Blake.) The Supt of Public'Works presented a bid from Quetance Bros. of $12 for making up wooden boxes for Police call box system. The Chairman thought the price excessive and requested the Supt. to get another bid. The Board decided to ine+tall an electric bell in the office of the Collector and Treasurer, which would ring in the Police Station, in case assistance or the police was necessary. In reference to Mr. Warner, Slaughter Inspector, being drawn as Juror, Mr. Charles Malley was appointed Inspector temporarily. Mr. Warner agreed to make arrangements at the State House with authorities there. A true record, Attest: CLERK.
