MINUTES OF THE MINUTEMAN REGIONAL VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE
July 15, 1975
PRESENT Mssrs Merluzzo, Courtright, Cron, Cormier, Banfield,
Kelsey, Zeoli, Heinrich, Hall , Mrs Smith, Mrs Wales

The meeting was called to order at 8 20 p.m. Mrs Christine Stupik was
recognized as recording secretary
ACTING
SUPERINTENDENT-
DIRECTOR'S REPORT Dr Ricciuti reported that the Summer Cafeteria Program
was progressing very well and that 300-400 people were
being served lunch daily
It was reported that the Transportation/Bus routes for
September, 1975, were progressing well and that they
should be completed by August 1
Dr Resnick announced that accelerated programs in math
would be offered to students at a faster level in the =,
ninth and tenth grades
The current list of available facultyand staff {
positions
as updated was distributed
Dr Ricciuti announced that report cards had been mailed
It was reported that adjustments of academic and voca-
tional areas were being made throughout the building
and that they should be completed by the end of the
month.
Dr Resnick reported that all students in the tenth
grade will have their first choice of vocational areas
Dr Ricciuti reported that badge readers would be
utilized in the building and linked up to the computer
This would facilitate record keeping such as student
attendance, staff comp /vacation and sick time as well
as being used for identification to cash checks, with-
drawing materials from the IRC and equipment from shops

Dr Ricciuti mentioned the possibility of a time
sharing alternative approach to utilize vacant ninth
grade seats at Minuteman for the coming year Discus-
sion followed It was the concensus of the committee
that this idea and others for filling vacant seats
be developed further using inputs from superintendents
in the district without making any commitments
Preliminary review/revisions of the 1975-76 budget are
in process

consideration by the State Board of Education in
August
Dr Ricciuti presented criteria and procedures for
granting tuition reimbursement for courses taken by
staff
An update of the School Committee address sheet was
presented
It was MOVED by Mrs Smith, SECONDED by Mr Hall , to
approve the purchase of science education textbooks
for ninth and tenth grade students as follows
160 copies of Matter An Earth Science, by P R ,

375 copies of Life A Biological Science, by P R.

VOTED EIGHT IN FAVOR, Mr Kelsey and Mr Merluzzo
ABSTAINING for reasons recorded in the regular meeting
of June 3, 1975, and Mr Cron ABSTAINING
Michele Lombardo presented an adult education report
It was MOVED by Mr Merluzzo, SECONDED by Mrs Wales
to accept the report The administration will make
recommendations to the school committee regarding
initiation of Adult Education programs for the coming
year

It was MOVED by Mrs Wales, SECONDED by Mr Kelsey,
to approve the following appointments to the staff
Howard Custance, staff teacher, Building Trades; to
start August 1 , 1975; at an annual salary of $12,500.
Roger Boissonneau, staff teacher, Horticulture; to
start July 15, 1975; at an annual salary of $12,000
Fernando DeLuca, staff teacher, Instrumentation; to
start July 15, 1975; at an annual salary of $13,000
William Ford, staff teacher, Communications/Human
Relations; to start July 15, 1975; at an annual salary
of $13,000
George Curt, staff teacher, Auto Body; to start July 15,
1975; at an annual salary of $12,000
It was MOVED by Mrs. Wales, SECONDED by Mrs. Smith, that the minutes of the
regular meeting of July 1 , 1975 be approved with the addition of the word
approximately before the amount of $680 57 in the Treasurer's Report on page 2
VOTED UNANIMOUSLY
TREASURER'S
REPORT The Treasurer reported a balance of $757 71 in the
regular account and a balance of $17,894 96 in the
site and construction account
OTHER
BUSINESS. Mrs. Smith outlined her initial plans for serving as
a liason to the staff in academic programs
Mrs Wales expressed concern regarding percentages of
women in the various positions at Minuteman, especially
among the vocational faculty
QUESTIONS FROM
THE AUDIENCE Mr Miskolczy inquired about the search for a Superin-
tendent and was advised that advertising was to begin
in September and January was the projected date of hire.
The meeting was adjourned at 10.50 p.m. to be reconvened in executive session
