MINUTES OF THE MINUTEMAN REGIONAL VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
COMMITTEE May 21 , 1974
PRESENT Mmes Smith and Wales; Messrs Cormier, Hall , Heinrich,
Merluzzo, Courtright, Cron, Fitzgerald and Kelsey
ABSENT Messrs Bilodeau and Morse
VISITORS Mrs Rubel (LWV, Concord) and Mrs Mary Gaffney

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8 50 p m
A motion made by the Chairman was voted and accepted to appoint Mr
Sains as temporary secretary during the vacancy of the regular
secretary
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted with the following
corrections
Sentence should read "Members requested that they be sent copies
of any correspondence of significance to their towns"
Change in second paragraph of the minutes of executive session
should read " be increased from $22,000 to $23,500"
The Treasurer reported a balance in the regular account of $3072 96,
and a balance in the construction site account of $7824 26
Mr Cron, Chairman of the Building Committee moved to vote the following
awards

Completed 4-year and 1-year outlines were distributed to committee members
with the request that the committee vote to accept these outlines at the
next committee meeting
Mrs Smith gave an overview of the Base Line Data Project being conducted
by Jim Cariffio Questionnaires were given to both parents and students
over a 3-week period Members of the staff worked with students at the
sending schools in getting the information

A letter from the Superintendent of Lexington was read to the committee
indicating that a scholarship fund would be set up in memory of Vernon
Page
A request was made for committee members to review the Philosophy state-
ment which is to go into the Policy Manual Mrs Wales also reported
that a Policy Committee meeting was held Wednesday, May 15, 1974, at
which time a draft for student admissions for 1975-1976 was compiled
The Superintendent-Director stated that candidates were being screened
to fill remaining various positions and that resumes of selected candi-
dates would be submitted to the committee for recommendations of hire
as quickly as possible xi
The Superintendent-Director reported on the status of transporation con-
tracts, information being gathered on insurance packages and also the,
status of equipment bids A report was also given by the Superintendent-
Director on the pre-bid conferences held with vendors of computer equip-
ment A report was also given on the status of the final print-outs
which have been run through MIT by Jim Linderman on the scheduling of stu-
dents An attempt would be made to make a presentation of the scheduling
at the next committee meeting; if not possible, definitely at the
following meeting June 18 A progress report was also given on the
status of the discipline manuals being developed by the staff
The meeting was adjourned at 10 20 p m. to be reconvened in executive
session
