Kemon Taschioglou(Lincoln) Alice DeLuca,Chair(Stow) Laura Mornssette(Arlington) Jeff Stulin,Vice-Chair(Needham) John Blyzinskyj (Weston) Came Flood, Secretary(Concord) Mary Ellen Castagno(Wayland) Cheryl Mahoney(Boxborough) Don Rober(Carlisle)(left at 8 35 pm) Absent. Dave Horton(Lexington) Ford Spalding(Dover) Dave Manjarrez(Sudbury) Jack Weis(Belmont) Peter Farmer(Lancaster) Dore Hunter(Acton) Others Present. Attorney Mary Jo Reedy,Elizabeth Rozan,Ernie Houle,Kris Luoto I. OPEN SESSION: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6 30 pm II. PUBLIC COMMENT Speaking on behalf of the Minuteman Faculty Association, Cary Bernstein made a statement expressing outrage that a member of the faculty remains"wrongfully unemployed"while a substitute teacher is in the Engineering Department at the school She implored the School Committee to resolve this before the grievance goes to arbitration on September 12th Dave Manjarrez, Sudbury representative to the School Committee,read from the July 30,2012 memo from Maureen Valente regarding opinions relative to Minuteman Regional High School on the Stabilization Fund votes and the Town of Belmont's position At his request,the correspondence is attached to these minutes(Attachment A) III. EXECUTIVE SESSION At 6 35 pm,a motion was made to enter Executive Session Concern was raised about the process of conducting business in Executive Session,and explanations were given,with the Attorney noting that in her opinion,the process was properly followed,with one error in how the agenda stated the movement from open to executive session The following vote was taken by roll call vote of the members present ACTION 2012#139 Moved(Mahoney)and seconded(Flood) To enter into Executive Session for the purpose of considering complaints or charges against a public officer,employee,staff member,or individual(Exemption#1 under the Open Meeting Law),not to return to Open Session,and to allow Attorney Mary Jo Reedy and Elizabeth Rozan to remain present Castagno yes DeLuca yes Blyzinskyj yes Mahoney yes Mornssette yes Rober yes Taschioglou yes Manjarrez no Flood yes Horton yes Stulin yes Vote 10 in favor, 1 opposed IV.
