All Membere Prevent. :ir. harrison called attention to the fact that he had written the County and State relative to the cost of sidewalk work on Araple Street, to the end that the charge for that work be in - eluded in the cost of the street job. ;sir. Harrison also reported that he had written a letter to ,William Viano, director of the Lexington Theatre, asking that none of the Roscoe Arbuckle films be shown at that theatre, irrespective of the fact that Will Hayes, Motion Picture Director of U. S. had aprroved the return of Arbuckle to the motion picture world. The matter of lighting the street lights all night was discussed. Mr. Scamman explained that it would cont about ' per light for about 720 lights which would be approximately $5.40 per night to burn the lights all night. No decision was made on the matter. Mr. Tenney requested that a street light be installed at the corner of Hancock St. and Bedford Streets owing to the fact that the light at the prevent time is very misleading to autbmobiliste. It was voted to inetall a street light on the right hand aide of Hancock Street and that Mr. Harrison request the Edison Co. to put same in. Mr. Scamman reported that there was still dissatisfaction in regard to the men working on the Highway Department. He repported that a man named Mason who had worked for Dailey requMed a job. Mir. Harrison reported that he had received letters in regard to the Chief of Police job and that now there were several candidates. Mr. Harrison was requested to consult with Mr. Pierce P. 4 Condon,,Supt of Streets of atertown in regard to the position of Supt of Streets, Water and Sewers. Mr. garrison was also requested to talk with Mr. neaudry in regard to severing his connections with the town. Mr. Harrison stated that he would make some changes in the office inasmuch as Mr. Duffy would be town engineer and devote all of his time to that work. He also stated that 'sr. Duffy was to make a private office of what is now used by the men in'drafting plans and that the entire outer office would be cleared of the small desks so that the men would have sufficient room fon drafting. lair. Burnham called attention to the fact that the house next to the High School would be taken by the Janitor if the condition was such that it war livable. The Board voted to allow three months rent to the School WO Janitor so that he might fix up the house. (The house was not taken by the Janitor) 74illiam J. 1cClintock came before the Board for an inter- view relative to the position of Supt. of Streets, Water & Sewers. Mr. McClintock liven in Kelroae, is married and has two children. lie worked on highway construction at the City of Newton, Engineer's Office, he has had no experience on water systema except what he obtained from staking out plane. He gradu- ated of high School in 1599 and has been doing; engineering work since. He had extensive experience on steam trench construction work. Very little experience on water sheds or areae. He has handled 98 men in construction work, and had no labor troubles except during the war. He stated that he would consider $2200 salary. Water & Sewer Department. ;Liskle Brothers of Concord Avenue came before the Board to see whether or not the tovn would do anything for them to reduce their payment on their guarantee for water extension. They claimed that DeVincent should pay on their guarantee. They were informed by the Board that 1:r. DeVincent'e line of extension was a lateral on his line and that he could not be requested to pay toward the �:iskle guarantee.
