189 MEETING, NOV. 28 , 1922 . All kembere Present. Petition of the L . r.. T . S- T . Co . for location of two pales on Lase . Ave . from L.aple St . northerly was granted. Mr . Kent of the Telephone Co . appeared to request that the petition be granted. Petition of the New r.ng. Tel & Tel . Co. for two poles on Vire Brock Road from Waltham St . extending present line toward Winthrop Road, wan granted. No person appeared to object and Mr. Kent of the Telephone i)o . requested that the petition be granted. In answer to the application of Semonian Broe . the Board notified theta that they would not give a hearing owing to the fact th..t public convenience and necessity did not require another gasoline filling station on Woburn St. an one was recently granted to K. 1:.. Munroe for a location at the cor. of Lowell and Woburn Ste . In connection with the granting of gasoline licensee the Board voted That in the future all permits for the erection of gasoline stations be granted on condition that the building be in process of erection within two months from the date the permit is granted, and in actual operation in ninety days from the date of permit. Mr . Hatch reported that the By-Laws were being held up by the Attorney General for some tringe that he wishes to take up with Mr. Bayley. Chairman of the By-Law committee . i.,r. Harrison was requested to supply the officer with came . Ur. Harrison reported that he intended to clear up matters in Everett no that ,lionday he would be able to take over duties at Lexington without any interference with hie work. Mr . Burnham reported that Mr . Franklin P. Simonds wanted some work done on Grove St. 1..r . harrieon was to attend to same . Mr. Harrison reported that he had requested bids on the printing of the Town Hall rental schedules . The Board signed a .rrant for a Town Meeting to be held Dec. 12th. r. harrison reported that he had written to Mr. H. H. Hanson of the M & B. St. Hwy Co. requesting them to put come gravel along side of their tracks in front of 57 Bedford Street, this request being made ae a result of an accident which occurred recently at that spot. Mr. Harrison reported that the arrangement of keeping the hall open during the noon hours was working out satisfactorily. Mr. Harrison reported that he had read the police department regulations which were presented to him sometime ago , and recommended that the regulations be adopted. A general discussion of the conduct of the Police Department was entered into . Mr. Harrison reported that he had written to Mr. Pryun to give him definite figures on the installation of the Police signal system and that Kr . Pryun was taking the matter up with the Telephone office at Boston. Mr. Harrison reported that he had received a letter from Mr. F. L. Emery in which he complained of the rale of liquor at the Cafe operated by J . A. u 'Brien on Mass . Avenue . He sent a copy of kr . Emery' s letter to the Federal Prohibi- tion Agent with the request that they assist the police department of Lexington in rounding up the violators . Mr. Harrison presented a plan drawn up by kr . Duffy showing the places where kr. Harry M. Aldrich claims the water was diverted so that it now floods his land so that he cannot cut the hay from the same . It was suggested that information be obtained.from Edwin B. eaorthen on same . Application for a Lexington Lumber Co . bill board to be located 1 mile west of Lincoln St. on State Road was received from the State Department of Public Works . No action was taken on same. Letter was received from the Edison Elec . Ill . Co . in which they informed the Board that they are getting estimated on changing the circuit on Bedford Street to the Lexington circuit rather the Bedford one . Water and Sewer Dept. kr . Beaudry was requested to find out from the Treasurer of the Savings Bank if he would honor the eignaiare of the Supt. of Public Works on the deposits of collateral in the Savings Bank. 191 Lr . Harrison reported that u.r. h. Li . Aldrich had purchased property on Hayes Lane and desired to have an extension of the water pipes made . Ur. Beaudry reported that it would cost approximately $3000 to make the extension. The Board felt that it could not recommend this extension this fall. Ir. Harrison reported that the extension of water in the Suburban Land Co . property was working out satisfactorily to the parties interested. Mr. Harrison read a letter which he had written to the various plumber© in town in regard to bringing about an agreement whereby the plumbers could file a bond with the town in the amount of $4000 each and the work of sewer connections to houses from the street could be done by the plumbers instead of the water and sewer department . Letter was received from hr. A. K. Tucker in which he asked for an extension of time in which to make his sewer connection. The matter was left with hr. Harrison to reply to .
