requested that he be given the grade of the streets in hie section

The Board informed him that they would instruct the
Engineer to do this work sometime when it would not interfer with
his regular work.
In reply to the request of Mr. Burgess of the Building
Trust for a sidewalk along the trust companies property on Bedford
Street, Lr. Luffy informed the Board that enough surplus material
would be left from the Bedford ot. job to conetruct,thie sidewalk.

It was decided to ask the opinion of the Town Counsel
as to whether or not the Town, in his opinion, has accepted the
Act of the General Gourt of 1914 being entitled, ".�m Act relative
to vacations of laborers employed by cities and towns."

The Clerk was requested to write Robert H. Holt to call a
meeting of the Appropriation committee on Sept. 12 to consider
matters for the Town Iieetirg, Kept. 19, 1922.
In regard to the appointment of a Superintendent of Public
'uJorks, it war unanimously "Voted, to appoint Christopher Harrison
of L�verett, Laseachueetta, as Superintendent of Public e'uorks of
Lexington at a salary of $850 per month to commence October 1,1922"
Unanimously voted, "that the above vote appointing the
Superintendent of Public Worke be sent to ter. Harrison with the
request that he inform us as to acceptability of terms and of any
variations he wishes to make."

Voted that the Superintendent of the 4ater & Sewer Department
be authorized to use dynamite for blasting purposes in hie work
provided he also gets the proper permits fromvthe proper authorities
and also to carry insurance.
He was also given permission to keep a magazine for the dynamite.
