Plumer was received from the Colonial Tilling Station, .Allen Hubbard, Jr , 156 Sixth St, East Cambridge , .1-ass . The Board voted not to grant a hearing on same . .v.r. Barney Rodman of 54 Portsmouth St, Cambridge , made application for a junk license . The matter was referred to the Chief of Police to look up character of this man. Letter was received from Aquaro asking when he may expect the electric lights installed in Albemarle , Arcadia and Rindge Avenues . Lir. bcamman agreed to look these streets over and order the lights at an early date. The town voted to install these lights on kay 22 , 1922 . Letter was also received from -,lr . Aquaro in which he requested that he be given the grade of the streets in hie section as he was promised this by the Board a year and a half ago . The Board informed him that they would instruct the Engineer to do this work sometime when it would not interfer with nie regular work. In reply to the request of Mr. Burgess of the Building Trust for a sidewalk along the trust companies property on Bedford Street , ar. Luffy informed the Board that enough surplus material would be left from the Bedford bt. job to construct this sidewalk. kr. Luffy was therefor authorized to do this work. It was decided to ask the opinion of the Town Counsel as to whether or not the Town, in hie opinion, has accepted the Act of the 0-eneral Court of 1914 being entitled, "An Act relative to vacations of laborers employed by cities and towns " Notice war sent to the Lexi gton :Minute-man informing them that hereafter all official notices will be rent to the Lexington Times , as that is the paper published in Lexington. The Board also thanked them for all past favors . kr . Jacob Bornstein requested that he be given a junk license and that he be allowed to pay in monthly installments . The Board would not agree to any such agreement: The Board authorized theTown Treaeiier to issue another note f Y 161 of $15 ,000 in anticipation of the issue of Highway bonds . The Clerk was requested to write Robert H. Holt to call a meeting of the appropriation Ldommittee on Sept . 12 to consider matters for the Town Meeting , Sept. 19 , 1922. In regard to the appointment of a Superintendent of Public uiorks , it war unanimously "Voted, to appoint Christopher Harrison of Everett, Massachusetts , as Superintendent of Public [Works of Lexington at a salary of $350 per month to commence October 1,1922" Unanimously voted, "that the above vote appointing the Superintendent of Public Worke be sent to mr . Harrison with the request that he inform us as to acceptability of terms and of any variations he wishes to make . " dater & Sewer department. Voted that the Superintendent of the water & Sewer Department be authorized to use dynamite for blasting purposes in hie work provided he also gets the proper permits from the proper authorities and also to carry insurance . He was also given permission to keep a magazine for the dynamite . The Clerk wle directed to acknowledge receipt of application of Peter Robertson on St. Margaret Avenuefor water service and to direct Mr . Deaudry to take up the matter with the Town Counsel. The Clerk was also directed to acknowledge receipt of petition of residents of 5'ranklin Avenue to Alfred Crosby of Cresoent Hill Avenue and to refer the petition to kir .
