Scamman, Cotton, Blake and Tenney Present, ' In consideration of the request of the Town Treasurer for retirement, the following votes were passed, Voted: That George D. Barrington, our present Totiti'n Treasurer, in accordance with hie application and after consideration thereof, be retired under Chapter 447, Acte of 19121, accepted by this town, to take effect September 1, 1922, and further that lir. Barrington be informed hereof and congratulated on hie long, faithful and efficient service to the Town. Voted: That in place of George D. Barrington, Town Treasurer, retired, Arthur ++. hatch is hereby appointed 'Temporary Town Treasurer to take office September 1, 1922 at a salary at the rate of $52.08 per month. Letter was received from Ada P. 'Wilkinson, 7 1aaple Street , complaining of the damage to her house caused by the condition of the street in front of her property. Letter �,ias acknowledged and the matter was referred to the Town U-ounsel. I4her@as: The Board of Public Yorke has received a letter from Edwin A. Bayley: , Voted: That the Clerk acknowledge receipt of letter dated' August 7, 1922 from Edwin A. Bayley, Esq.; that he write in acknowledgment thereof that the Board is and has been earnest by striving to find a suitable man for the position of Superintendent; that they welcome any aid or assistance from him or any other citizen with the assurance ouch will be received in the same constructive and helpful spirit which prompted his letter; that the Board has received over 75 written applications for this position, have interviewed a number of applicants and are fast arriving at conclusions. Van Buekirk in regard to her petition for the extension of the water main in Cedar St. The Board voted to install a 12 inch water main through Vine Brook Road, provided Mr. Gerussi will sign a contract with a 70 guarantee on the cost of a 6 inch pipe. I The Board voted to have John Kelley secure an estimate from John Barnes of the cost of putting in a new return pipe to the 'b¢,iler, properly tarred. Application to the Department of Public 'delfare by i,_re. ylizabeth nurton of Francis street, for a license to board t`:,o infanta was approved by the board of health.
