Messrs . Seaman, Cotton, Burnham and Blake Present.
Mr. Francis J . Toye of Ames Avenue came before the Board
to urge that the Board allow the gas maine to be placed in the
water trench in Carville and Butler Avenues . He asked that this
be done owing to the fact that the Gas Co . say that they have
not funds enough to put the gas up these streets . AS long as
the water department is going to put the water pipes in now he
requested that the gas company be given permission to put their
pipes along side of the water pipes .
The Board considered that this would not establish a pre-
cedent but that in this particular case where so many people
would be benefited it would be well to allow this privilege .
On motion of Mr. Cotton it was therefor voted that the
Gas Co . be given privilege to lay their pipes in the water trench
provided t it meets with Mr. lenney' s approval.
