The records of the lant meeting were read and approved.
Hearing was declared open upon petition of Fred Lundergan
of 9 Sylvia St. to erect a community garage.
The petitioner was not present at the time set for the
hearing, namely 8 o'clock.
Yr. L:Jchael Curran, Florence B. Child and Kr. Bloustein
came before the Board to object to the permit being granted to
build this building.
The Board considered the matter and voted not to grant
a license.
Nr. 'Tenney reported that he had talked with the Town
Counsel and that the Uounsel had given him hie opinion that
Lr. Ribok, who has appealed the decision of the building inspector
as to building to be located next to the Viano block on ldase. Ave.
should have a permit to build a second class building with a blind
wall close to the property line and that he should not be ree-
tricted to building same 7g feet of the property line. The Clerk
was instructed to get this opinion in writing from the Town Counsel
and to instruct the Building Inspector to issue the permit in
accordance with the advice of the Town Counsel.
11r. Scamman reported a complaint from William Sandison
of Reed Street about the drainage in that section causing water
in his cellar.
The Board instructed the Clerk to request lair. Duffy to
investigate the conditions and report to the Board.

Yr. Tenney reported that the purchasing agent for his com-
pany recommended the second hand addressograph plate making
machine at the price of $90 as his experience with same proved
that they worked as well as the new machine at $145.
The Board considered the purchase of a machine, but finally
laid the matter on the table.
Confirmation of his appointment as a regular police officer
on the reserve list was given to Harold C. Reimer. He was sworn
in on June 29, 1921 by Mr, Scamman.
Deed of the water main in Follen Road was received from
Frank D. Peirce. Before e._ecuting same it was decided to turn it
over to the Town Counsel to pace upon.
Public Carriage License bonds were approved for the follow-
ing:

In regard to kr. 6erusei's request for additional street
lights on eine Brook Road, it was decided to notify him that
the Board would take action when the proposed houses he intended
to build were all located as at that time they could judge
better when to place lights.
Arthur A. ''arshall was authorized to renew two policies
of $5000 each expiring on July 13th and 16th respectively. He
was instructed to bring both policies together.
It was decided to hold a meeting on Thursday at 5 P. :1. at
which time conferences with the following applicants for the
position of Superintendent of Public „'orks will be held:
A. J. Poet
Christopher Harrison
U. L. Slocum
Harold W. Horne
In regard to the vacancy to be caused by the request of the
Town Treasurer to be retired, Mr. Ocaumian stated that Yr. Jay 0.
Richards is an applicant for the position.
The Board decided to request the Superintendent of Streets
to give an estimate of the work on the highways proposed for the
balance of the year, also what work has been delayed by recent
storms and what work Yee would like to do, but cannot see his way
clear to do.
It was decided to request the Superintendent of Streets
to submit an estimate of the cost of constructing a gravel
sidewalk along the property of Turner C. Kelley of 619 Mass. Ave.
Parke & Playgrounds.
Lir. Blake called attention to the condition of the culvert
under the road on the playground. Water stands on one side and
does not run off on the other side of the road.
It was decided to request Lir. Duffy to look at same and
report what ,would give relief.
It was voted to have the flags raised during the Teacherle
convention from July 3rd to 10th inclusive.

It was voted to authorize payment of $70 to Jacob Dublin,
of 24 Sylvia St. so that he could transport hie family to New York.
This case is a Lexington case and the transportation of this family
to another State will save the town considerable future expense.
Through Lir. Cotton'e efforte the man consented to take his family I to New York.

Lir. Beaudry was authorized to buy one car of 6" water pipe
from the i)onaldson iron Company at $51.70 F. u. J. Lexington.
T..is amount is approximately 20 tons. (For Carville Ave. job)
He was also authorized to buy 55 lengths of 1211 pipe from
the ''iiarren Foundry Co. at $46 F. 0. B. foundry, Philipebury,
New Jersey. (For Vine Brook Rd. job)
Mr. Tenney reported that the insurance exchange recommend
that a 12 inch pipe be installed in Vine Brook Road.
In regard to the issue of sewer bonds for sewer connections,
it was voted to borrow money on short term notes and to sell the
bonde($6500) when they become due.
