business and his deed prohibited anything of that sort.
The Edison Oo. were granted permission to remove and set
one pole on Lowell St. approximately 1845 feet north of Reed

same being $400.
No action was taken on the matter.
Letter was received from S. Bennett, 34 Monument Square,
Charlestown, asking that something be done about the drainage con-
ditions on Farmhurst,in the vicinity of Kendall Road.
Mr. Beaudry was requested to look into the matter and report
to the Board.
Mr. Duffy reported that it would cost in the neighborhood of
$400 to resurface Bedford St. and put same in fair conditiont with
a poesible $600 expenditure each year. To lay a new street it
would cost about $11,000.
Mr. Duffy suggested that the Maple and Lo7r,611 St. proposition
would not cost as much as it was contemplated, and that Mr. Kendall, '
of the County, would be willing to spend whatever balance there
was on that job on another street in Lexirgton. Therefor if
$100 was spent in patching Bedford St. from Elm five. to the brook
now, it was a fair gamble that some money could be secured from
the County to aid in rebuilding that section of the street per-
manently later in the seaeon.
The Board was agreeable to Mr. Duffy's suggestion.
Board of Survey.
Mr. Daniel Cerusei of Vine Brook Road came before the Board

he intends to build on said street.
He was requested to get in touch with thg Planning Board to
see what they recommended.
In this connection Mr.
Cerussi asked whether
or not the sewer
would be extended the entire

from the brook.
He was informed that there were no funds for the
extension.
He was also informed of
the procedure to get

Water & Sewer Department.
' Mr. Joseph Swan of Bedford St. came before the Board and
informed them that he thought the Board was very fair in the
proposition presented to him for the lateral sewer connection,
and that he would see Mr. Robinson to ascertain if the same
was agreeable to him.
Letter was received from the Board of Public Works of
Arlington in which they informed this Board that they had no
objection to the work on the proposed culvert and change in
grade of Munroe Brook being done provided it was done in accord-
ance with the plans submitted to their Board and also to the
satisfaction of their Engineer.
Letter was received by Mr. Tenney from Fred Jr'. Miler of
12 Winthrop Rd in which he expressed his appreciation of the
work that was done in draining the land in the rear of his
place.
The Board acknowledged receipt of the letter, it being
so unusual that any work of a public nature was ever, appreciated.
A delegation from the Concord Avenue district including
Dr. Eunson, Mr. 1ohn McCornack, et al. came before the Board
relative to improvement of the Concord Avenue brook. They
stated that they would cooperate by giving their time in digging
out the brook if the town would give a certain amount of money
' to help out.
Mr. Beaudry stated that about $100 could now be spent on
the brook if the town would give a certain amount of money to
help out.
Mr. Beaudry was therefor authorized to expend $100 and
the proposition seemed agreeable to the petitioners.
Mr. Tenney reported a consultation with Mr. Toys relative
to extending water on Carville and Butler avenues.
Mr. Tenney suggested that since the Board of Health con-
demned the water, it would be well to lay pipes in these two
avenues. He suggested that if the pipe was laid the abutters
would agree to take water equal to 7 of the $2500 of the cost
of extension.
Mr. Cotton moved that the water mains be laid on that
basis, and it was unanimously voted.
Mr. Beaudry was therefor instructed to have the Town Counsel
V. draw up the agreement which is to be signed by the abutters
releasing the Town from liability and guaranteeing 7%.
Mr. Tenney distributed among the members of the Board,
copies of proposed water main regulations, that the members o`f,
the Board might pass upon them.
Mr. Tenney suggested that Mrs. Van Buskirk be notified
that the Board is working on a scheme of water main extensions
and may be able to present something to her on July let.
In regard to sewer connections it was voted that all
buildings that now have connections with the sewer in which the
plumbing is not connected, the plumbing be connected by Jan. 1,
126 ,?
1923; those that are not connected to the sewer should have Cn
connections made by December 1, 1922 and those (both first and
second class) must have the plumbing connected by July 1, 1923.
Mr. Fred Longbottom of Fern St. came before the Board '
and requested that he e given permission to extend the water
pipe existing at the old barn on that street to the new house
which he is building.
Although not in accordance yrith the general principle of
the :eater Department, it was voted to allow him to make the
extension.
.In regard to the vote passed at the last meeting relative
to allowing Bir. Burgess to open up hydrants, it was voted to
allow him only in accordance with the vote of the Board of -'+Yater
& Sewer Commiseionere in 1919, and that he must give Mr. Beaudry
24 hre. notice so that the opening may be done under his super-
vision.
