Mrs. Reade of Bedford request that her son be given Sunday. The license had been meeting. Mrs. Reade stated that tax in the Town,for a number entitled to some privilege. The Board reversed its to Willard P. Reade and Edgar Acte of 1909. Street came before the Board to a license to sell tonics, etc. on refused by the Board at.its former she was a widow and paid a large of years and thought she ought to be decision and voted to grant a license Dunlap under Chap. 423 of the Letter was received from William H. Ballard in which he enclosed copies of correspondence with the Boston & Maine RR. relative to the proposed purchase of the park plot near the rail- road station. Mr. Hustis. President of the Boston & Maine RR. requested in his letter to Mr. Ballard, that a certified copy of the vote relative to purchase of the RR property be sent him, and the Board voted to grant this request. Prir. Ballard in another letter to the Board suggested a sub- scription committee to make up the additional $100000 needed to purchase the land and offered $100 as his personal subscription. Mr. Cotton reported that application for gas main in Inde- pendence Ave. had been in the hands of the Town Engineer and had been held up by him on account of the proposed drainage system to be installed in that street. He stated that Mr. Pero was anxious to get this main in as he applied for service. It was therefor voted that a permit be granted for this location as soon as the Engineer has defined the location of the main. - Letter was received from Mrs. Ida H. B. Capper in which she. stated that she did not wish to withdraw her application for a first class garage one hundred feet from Waltham St. on Middle St. in the Town of Lexington, Mass. The Board replied to her that by giving her leave to with- draw her application they meant that her petition was not granted. Mr. Burnham reported that Pair. Simonds of Grove St. had just expended considerable money for painting the buildings on his pro- perty and that he would like the street oiled in front of his place. The Board instructed the Clerk to ask Dir. Duffy to have this done, Application for a bill board of John Donnelly & Sons to be located On Mass. Avenue nearthe East Lexington Station was received from the Department of Public Works. The Board voted to disapprove of the application. 122 A. A.Marehall & Son was instructed to renew insurance expiring June 26, 1922 to the amount of $140800. Letter was received from Elmer A. Lord & Co. in which they ' informed the Board that the small ell on the dwelling at 9 Hancock Jt. should be shingled with composition roofing. Mr. Blake agreed to see fir. Garrity about doing this work. Board of Survey. Letter was received from the Planning Board relative to the proposed street parallel with Bedford St. on land of the Lexington Building Trust. It was stated that w:nile a parallel street is deeirable, the matter of approaches, outlets, etc. could not be determined without the entire plan of the lay out, which ime not placed before them for consideration. Overseers of the Poor. It was voted to pay the bill of $50 outstanding for the burial of Catherine Doyle. -This is the balance of the bill incurred by her aunt, Mre. hennessey. viater & Sdwer Department. t Letter was received from the Board of Public Works of ' Arlington in which they requested that no further work on the Munroe Brook be done at present, and also that detail plane of the work contemplated be sent to them for consideration. Mr. Tenney reported to i.ir. Scamnan that he had seen Mr. Toye of Ames Ave. in regard to putting in water mains in that section and that he thought it would be.good policy to put in the ex- tension and charge the people 7�6 of one half of the cost. Mr. Harry A. Burgess of Parker Street requested that he be given permission to use hydrants to fill up his spraying carte provided he paid for the water used. The Board decided to allow him this privilege and instructed the Clerk to notify Mr. Beaudry. A true record, Attest: CLERK. 1
