Water & Sewer Dept.
The question of extending; the water pipe om Stetson Street
which is now just beyond Emery's to Oakland Street was considered.
The proposed extension of 350 feet would cost approximately $5.
pr. ft. on account of ledge excavation. This extension would
be made only to help out the system. The Board decided if a
hydrant vould be put in on Stetson Street for the purpose of
flushing that Mr. Emery would be satisfied with the result, as
at the present time Mr. Emery claims that _hie water is not clear.
It was left with Mr. Beaudry to see Mr. Emery and explain the
intention of the Board.
Mr. Tenney stated that he would bring up for consideration
other extensions of water mains at an early date.

from Mr. Ryder as to requiring entrance to the sewer.
In regard to the Audubon Road drainage situation, Mr. Tenney
explained that he had been in conference with Mr. Ryder and
Mr, Aldrich, attorney for McCaffrey, and found that Mr. Aldrich
believes that if the brook through the McCaffrey land is opened
up that sewerage disposal from the.Doe house on Audubon Road
will pass into the brook.
Mr. Tenney's suggestion was to have Robert Spurr Weston,
an acknowledged authority on sewer disposal, make an analysis
to see whether or not in his judgment any polution can be
entered in the brook by opening the same up. It would cost
for his services not less than $50 and not more than $100.
If this test proved that no polution would enter the brook then
the water and sewer department could clean out the brook through
the McCaffrey land.
In this connection Mr. Beaudry informed the Board that in
his opinion the cesspool on the Doe property was not adequate
in size.
It was therefor voted that Mr. Weston be requested to make
an examination of the conditions in the above named section,
and that Mr. Beaudry make arrangements to secure Mr. Weston's
services.
