Executive committee (May 13 )
(Actually it was supposed to be a full meeting, but only the executive
board-Mary, Ellen, Sue, Nancy, Matt, Mr Miller, and two other mem-
bers - Mrs Anderson, Peter. Miller, showed up )
A discussion took place on how to select members for next year' s
commission. It was decided that (for students ) a sign-up sheet and
short written description of the Commission' s duties will be made
available to interested people informal group interviews will take
place with those interested students and current members of the board
This interview will serve as a two way information flows to inform
the 'prospectives ' of how the commission operates and what they will
be getting into, and to 'weed out' the applicants to determine who
is genuinely interested and willing to wotk Then, the remaining
people will fill out an application (with teacher recsommendation) .
Then, personal interviews will be held with each applicant individually.
These interviews will be held by the outgoing members of the YC Junior
High and High School will be conducted in the above manner.
Another point discussed was the possibility of getting more 'normal'
people (not neccessarily associated with a particular town committee )
on the Commission. These people could be parents or just adults who
are really interested in helping youth. Also it was discussed about
extending our terms through the summer to have an overlap orient-
ation session With the new members . Also the establishment of a strong
alternate system to strengthen the commission and assure good attendance.
Board of Selectmen (May 24)

We presented out ideas (as above ) for next year (also increasing
the number of youth members through the alternate system) The league
of Women Voter' s also presented a plan for the revision of the YC.
*It was decided that the Ye would meet with the League La discuss the
row arm, composition of the YC and come back to the Selectmen with a
reccommenaation. The'Selectmenn also voted to extend our terms through
the summer to orient the incoming members.
