HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-06-24-TCC-min.pdf /c es— TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE June 24, 1976 PRESENT Chmn Barnes, Mr Gaughan, Mrs Mitchell, Mr Flynn, Mr Turner, Mr Brenchick LBC Chmn Cole ; Paul Jenkins Old Business The Committee reviewed bills left from April 19 which had been voted payment' by the Committee, but which had not been received by the TCC in form suitable to accompany the purchase orders issued at the time the units were invited Mrs Mitchell , Mr Branchick, and,Mr Flynn will check on all of these, with the assistance of Chief Marshal Rooney It was noted that known bills were Lexington High School Band $100 Belmont High School Show Band 280 St William's Band 350 Marinel Transportation Co 2 bussesl0 th Regiment of FootBO Stewart Highlanders 250 New Business Plans for the 4th of July were reviewed Mrs Mitchell will be responsible for publicity regarding the various events to be sponsored by the TCC, including the ceremonies on the Green at 2 pm, the family picnic and band concert at Parket Field, and the bonfire at dusk on the Hayden property Arrangements for the musical presentation were not finalized; however, it was agreed that if LBC Chmn Cole could make suitable arrangements with St William' s Band of Dorchester, that group would be a fine addition to the afternoon, and their probable expenses would be within the budget allowed for the day The committee voted that Chmn Cole should issue the invitation; that the Lexington Minute Men should receive an honorarium for again highlighting the formal portion of a Lexington celebration, and that Chmn Barnes should be authorized to purchase a new microphone for the public address equipment owned by the TCC and used on all ceremonial occasions All other arrangements were reviewed, including those for the bonfire , for the bell ringing and for reading of the Governor ' s Proclamation and a portion of the Declaration of Independence Respectfully submitted, Ruth Mitchell, Recording Secretary O§'
