MEETING, DEC. 27, 1921.
All Members Present.
The records of the last meeting were read and approved.
Bide for town reports were received from the following:
$7.50 pr. pg. tabular.
Newburyport Herald Press -$2.70 pr. pg straight
The Alpine Press - 5.00 "
Star Printing Co. - $3.75
The Melrose Free Press - $3.72
Medford Mercury - $3..90
The bid was awarded to the Star Printing Co. at their
bid of $3.75 pr. page on a basis of 2000 copies.
Letter was received from Edwin B.'Vorthen, President
of the Lexington Historical Society, in which he requested that
the publications of the Acts and Resolves of the Massachusetts
Legislature and the Federal Laws from about 1790 to 1825 be turned
over to the Historical Society. These publications are at the
present time in the Town offices.
It was voted to turn the aforesaid books over to the
Historical Society upon receipt for came.
An Agent's Licenee was granted to the Colonial Garage
of 34 Bedford St, Lexington, they having an agency for Buick and
Chevrolet cars.
The Board received noticethat a conference would be
held on December 28, at 3:30 P. I. at the office of the Board of
Public Works to talk over matters pertaining to future road work
in Lexington.
A. A. Marshall & Son were authorized to renew insurance
as follows:
Maryland Casualty Co. - $5000 on steam boiler at Cary
Memorial Library, expiring Jan. 7, 1922.
Employers Liability - $1200 on Cemetery Dept.
Workmen's Compensation, expiring Jan. 29, 1922.
Edwin B. Worthen was authorized to renew boiler
insurance on Munroe School boiler to the amount of $6000 on the
basis of twelve months and policy for three years.
A. A. Marshall was also instructed to renew the Cary
Library policy on a basis of twelve months and to expire in three
years.

The Board ordered a portalite for the use of the Police ,
Department, the coet of same being $32.00. Mr. R. L. Smith,
distributor was requested to bill game to the Town in
January*
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Janitor to have
no obstructions in the way of the fire escapes from the Hall
and to have lights burning in the hall ways leading to fire -
escapes when the main hall is being used by the public.
Mr. William E. Eaton offered the suggestion that the
Town Farm be rented to him.
The matter was talked over by the Board and a tentative
suggestion was offered to him substantially as follows:
To board the inmates at $8 per week and to board the
highway horses at $8.00 pr. week; $1000 rental for the farm
to be paid by Eaton.
