Miner came before the Board relative to her application for a gasoline tank with a capacity of 1000 gallons underground to be located at the corner of Lowell St. and Bartlett Ave. Mr. David H. Fulton, Lawyer and James E. Burke came before the Board to protest against the granting of this license. Mr. Fulton represented Mr. Harvey C. Wheeler of Lowell St. He protested on the ground that a tank would be injurious to future development of land in that section; that the street was too narrow and a tank would only tend to congest traffic and that it was a danger to children. He urged that the license be not granted. The hearing was declared closed and the Board voted not to grant the license. Mr. Hans Sorensen came before the Board in response to the Request of the Board relative to the proposed garage on his pro- perty. Mr. Sorensen explained that he could not erect a garage on the other side of his house, as suggested by Mrs. Leary at last weeks meeting, as there was a twenty foot drop on that side. ' After discussing the matter it was voted to grant Mr. Sor- enson a license to erect a garage on his premises as designated. Mr. William Murphy of 25 Mass. Ave. came before the Board as a result of the hearing called on his application for a public garage at his premises. The matter of reconstructing an old building to be used as a garage was discussed with the Build- ing Inspector. Mr. Murphy was informed that the building would have to be fire proof. It was called to his attention that some revisions were to be made in the Building laws and that the matter would come up at the next town meeting. Mr. Murphy stated that he was not in any particular hurry and that he would wait until after the next meetigg and take the matter up again with the Board. Letter was received from the Lexington Gas Co, calling the attention of the Board to the fact that there were only fourteen customers on Bedford 5t. Hill St, Shirley St and Tewksbury St., although the Board anticipated that there would be upwards of one hundred users if the main was extended up Bedford St. Reply was made to the company that the Board was very much surprised at this as there were more than fourteen names on the petition to the company asking for gas. The Board also informed the company that they would take the matter up with the persons who so urgently requested the gas. 48 `.falter S. Beatty was appointed a Special Police Officer for CZ the year ending; Apr. 1, 1922. Release for award of damages to the Frost property in ' No. Lexington being executed by John A. Easton, Adminietrator of the Est. of Ida B. M. Loring and Walter F. Fitch, recent purchaser of the property was received from the Town Couneel, together with instructions to make check payable to Mr. Eaeton, after deducting the tax title paid by Hallie C. Blake. It was voted to grant a public carriage license to James A. Bean provided he filed a satisfactory bond. Request was received from the Lexington Gas Co. that they be given permission to install a separate service line in the basement of the Town Hall for testing gas. The line at present is on the same line used by -the Town Hall* The Board granted the company permission to install this service. A hearing was declared open upon application of Mrs. Flora Trani of 4 Reed St, Arlington Hgte in response to her application for a 500 gallon gasoline tank. No persons appeared for or against. It was voted not to grant Mrs. Trani a license. Permission was granted to the Middlesex & Boston St. Rwy Co. to install a cross-over near the Lexington and Bedford Town line, beginning about two hundred and fifty feet from the line to a point necessary to install the cross-over. Bill for $1470.96 was sent to the Middlesex & Boston St. Rwy Co. same being their share of the cost of work on Mase. Avenue between Middle and Pleasant Streets. Request was received from the Board of Health that they should have $400 available to meet bills due and coming due the balance of the year. The Clerk was directed to notify the Board that a town meet- ing would be held on Dec. 9th at which time they could request this amount. It was voted to hold a town meeting on Dec. 9th at 7:45 P.M. and to draw the Warrant for the meeting on Nov. 29th from 8:00 to 8:30 P. M. Proposed regulations for the town of Natick governing bill boards were received by the Board. In this connection the Board directed a letter sent to the Planning Board in which the request was made that if the Planning Board desired to have any articles in the Warrant relative to similar proposed regulations for Lex- ington that the same be ready by neat Tuesday evening. Notice was received from Eyer & Co. of 45 Pine St, New York requesting whether or not the Board would be interested in a ' temporary loan. The Clerk was directed to place this letter on file for future reference. Mr. William J. Marshall called attention to the fact that the children at the Adame School were very disorderly and suggested 1 1 that a police officer stationed there for order for all time. It was decided to request the Chief there for a few days beginning Monday and or not he deemed it advisable to have this rest of the school year. L a few days might restore to detail an officer report as to whether duty performed for the Mr. Sullivan's request for a rating as acting Sergeant of the Police .Department was brought up by Mr. Cotton. It was decided to lay the matter over until the first of next year. Angus Butler was sent to Lakeville State Sanatorium. The rate for his care at that institution will be $4 pr, wk and will be charged to the Board of Health. He was also granted $10 for car fare and incidentals to prepare him for the institution. Mr. Cotton reported that Dr. J. 0. 'Tilton complained of the conditions surrounding the pumping station used by the Highway Department. Nothing was done about the matter. Mr. Richards reported that he had an interview with Mr. Pollock of the Boston & Maine RR* and informed the Board that Mr. Pollock has agreed to immediately start work on repairing the old station. Mr. Pollock agreed to vrrite a letter to the Board giving proposed intentions of the Boston & Maine RR. in regard to the park plot. A true record, Attest: �n ! I t��Y.CA-CCCJ CLERK G
