A hearing was declared open on petition of the New England Telephone & Telegraph Co. and Edison Electric Ill. Co of Boston for a joint or identical location for poles on Hancock Street at Revere Street, setting three poles and removing two. No persons appeared to object and it was therefor voted to grant the petition. The Board also voted to grant the petition of the Edison Electric Ill., Co to attach its wires and fixtures to the &yid lesex & Boston St. Rwy Co. pole on Mass. Avenue opposite (64/27 . The Board.voted to grant the petition of the Edison Electric Illuminating Co. to attach its wires an c fixtures to ' pole on Bedford Street opposite telephone pole 6N . The Board ordered the Tree Warden to take down a large elm tree situated near the junction of Grove and Burlington Streets near the residence of 1:r. Bruce, immediately as it was in a very dangerous condition. Mr. Railsback, President of the New England Road Machinery Co. came before the Board with reference to the letter sent his Company by the Board last week in regard to payment for the clutch recently installed at the Stone Crusher. Mr. Railsback explained that inasmuch as no contract was entered into for the furnishing of the Town with a new stone crusher and inasmuch as the parts of the Stone Crusher were bought separately he did not consider his company responsible for the cost of the clutch, which it was found was needed to put the stone crusher in operation. In this connection the matter of moving the stone crusher before Apr. 1, 1922 was discussed. Mr. Raileback stated that he would be glad to help out in any way possible to sell or. exchange the motor, if the Board desired to do so. Letter was received from Mr. E. P. Merriam requesting the amount of insurance placed on the school boilers. The Clerk was directed to reply to the same. ' It was reported that a manhole on Sherman St, needed some gravel placed around the same. This matter was turned over to Mr. Duffy to attend to. ' Permission was granted to the lidison Electric Ill. Co. to excavate on Mass. Avenue at Grant Street for the purpose of making repairs to the underground conduit. This permit was granted on condition that the company leave the street in as good condition as before excavation or the highway department will resurface same and charge the cost to the Edison Company. The permit was also granted on condition that the company protect the traveling public by suitable lights and fences. Arthur B. Howe and Charles E. Hadley were drawn as Jurors. Mr. Patrick J. Kelley, not having paid any attention to the letter of the Chairman of the Overseers asking him to appear this Tuesday evening, was notified that if he did not appear on Sept. 27, at 7:30 P. 10.. the matter would be placed in the hands of the Town Counsel. Matter of help at the Almshouse was discussed and Mr. Cotton agreed to see Mr. Eaton relative to the same. A true record, Attest: CLERK. 1 M
