HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921-08-26-BOS-min16 MEETING, AUG. 26, 1921. ' Messrs. Richards & Seaman Present. Allan C. Smith. Thomas G. Whiting, Edward C. Bailey and William E. Anderson were drawn as jurors. The Board reported the result of their inspection and view of the out door advertising signs for which application had been made to the Department of Public Works. Letter was written to A. E. Tarbell of the Department of Public Works, State House, Boston, Mass. that the Board wish to go on record as protesting against any form of this out- door advertising as being a detriment to the Town and tending to spoil the beautiful landscape and attracting from the general beauty of the country. Specifically we protest against the issuing of permits for the following applications: No. 446 0. J. Gude Co - Reason - Obstructs view to Mass. Ave. No. 4645 - 0. J. Gude Co. - Reason - Obstructs view from the State Road and also Waltham St* at a very dangerous corner. No. 4122 - Base Ball Publishing Co. - Reason - Obutruots view from School St. to State Road, No. 4121 - Base Ball PublialUng Co. - Reason Obstructs view from School St. and State Road. We also call your attention to two signs of Phomas Cusack Co. at the junction of Mass. Avenue and the State Road which are not listed by you and which we think should be removed as they obstruct the view of Dass. Avenue and also of the State Road and are at a very dangerous corner.
