A License to be a guide about the Common was granted to Lawrence Gaffney, Daniel W. Wormwood was appointed a Special Police Of1cer for the year ending Apr. 1, 1922. Letter was received from Mrs. Clara A. Manning of Bowman Street, No. Lexington, explaining how the street sign was placed on the street on which she lives, this being in answer to the letter of the Board of Aug. 4th, The Board replied to IIrs. Manning that if at any future date a request was made for the acceptance of Bowman. Street, the Town -ha;® already a public way by that name. It was suggested to Mrs. Manning that the street sign be changed. The matter of danger to passengers aboarding the Sight- seeing buses at the Hancock Clarke House on Hancock Street was considered. It Was finally decided to notify the White Star Line, the Royal Blue Line, Colonial Sight Seeing, and the Pilgrim Tours, that they must discharge their passengers in front of the Hancock Clarke House, go to Hayes Avenue, turn around and come back and park only on the left side of Hancock Street or in other words on the same side of the Hancock Clarke House. Mr. Worthen, President of the Lexington Historical Society, was requested to co-operate with the Selectmen in seeing that this traffic rule is carried out by asking the Custodian of the Hancock Clarke House to speak to all persons not observing this rule when occasion required the same. Since the last meeting of the Selectmen it having been intimated to the Board that Jacob Bornstein was implicated in a liquor theft, it was decided to hold up his license to collect junk until such time as the facts of the case could be ascertained. Mrs. Bornstein and Jacob came before the Board End stated the facts of the case and informed the Board that he was not implicated in the liquor cme. Mr. Bornstein also stated that he could obtain signatures of persons who would state that he was reliable. The Board requested Mr. Bornatein to bring in a petition signed by reputable persons. Upon the presentation ' of this petition the Board voted to grant the licenee. 1 1 Letter was received from Mr. W. H. Dunning complaining of the conditions existing at the corner of Adams Street and North Street. The same was referred to Mr. Duffy. The matter of doing the surveying and informing the people on the 1711bur property just what to do to put their streets in condition for acceptance was considered by the Board. After some discussion as to having an outside surveyor do the work, the Town Engineer agreed to see some of the parties interested some evening, and explain to them what they will be expected to do. Mr. Duffy was requested to have the brush on Follen Road and Shade Street out down. Mr. Duffy was also instructed to have some white lines painted on the street indicating the curve at Mass. Avenue and Pelham Road and also at the corner of Mass. Avenue and Maple St. The Bacon Real Estate rent which is due to the Town was turned over to Mr. Cotton to look after.
