Bide were received for the reconstruction of Bedford St. from Elm Avenue to the Boston & Braine RR crossing. The follow- ing bids were received from the following concerns: John A. It was voted to grant Arthur Colline a license to be a guide about the common subject to the approval of Dr. Fred S. Piper. This license will expire May 1. 1922. Letter was received from Andrew .i. Peters. Mayor of Boston, in which he enclosed outline of the Edison Case and asked for the assistance of Lexington. it was decided to acknowledge receipt of the letter and state that owing to lack of funds this town would be unable to actively co-operate with the City of Boston in their endeavor to secure reduced rates from the Edison Electric Illuminating Company. Application for permission to excavate at 19 Parker St. for theppurpose of installing gas service was received by the Board. It was voted to grant a permit subject to the approval of the Water & Sewer Board. Letter was received from William H. Andrews of Highland Avenue asking that an article be inserted in the warrant for the next town meeting asking that Highland Avenue from Bloom- field Street to Winthrop Road be accepted by the town. Letter was received from the Maryland Casualty Company giving instructions for work to be done on the boiler in the Town Hall. rhe clerk was directed to have Mr. Burke make the repairs on the boiler. ' Letter was received from Eugene C. Hultman of 64uincy calling attention to chapter 325 of the Acte of 1921 which relates to the Special Commission on the Necessaries of Life, of which he is Chairman. 2 Cr tv Mr. W• Hubert Wood, Attorney for the Suburban Land Company. ' informed the Board that the company accepted and conformed to the conditions stated on the plan approved by the Board of Survey on ►arch 23. 1920. The Board informed him that they were glad that the company was willing to co-operate and sug- geeted that he get in touch with the 'Town Engineer in regard to detail plans. The American Gas Accumulator Company was given instructions as to the proposed location of the Traffic Beacon which the Board desires to try out at the junction of Follen Road and the State Road. Mr. Richards reported that he had ordered certain repairs on Village Hall. A true record. Atteet: clerk. 1 1
