OCTOBER PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• Trusts and Probate. Tuesdays, 9:30 am-11:30 am. Trust and Probate is an ongoing member-directed class
which discusses the use use of wills, trusts, and probate in estate planning, as well as many aspects of senior
living and town affairs. Class members all contribute to the discussions with their experience and points of view.
• World Affairs Study Group. Tuesdays,2:00 pm.The World Affairs Group continues to meet in the Conference room.
Dr.Rathore has returned and will be leading the group.The format is discussion about world affairs and current issues in
the US.New people are always welcome.

• Shifting Gears-Registry of Motor Vehicles Outreach Program Friday, October 14, 11:00 a.m.
Michelle Ellicks, RMV Community Outreach Coordinator, will present "Shifting Gears," a free, hour- long
program designed to educate and encourage elder drivers to be the best driver possible. This pro gram highlights
issues facing elder drivers and offers safe-driving tips, information on how age affects one's driving, and
identifies the most frequent collisions for elder drivers. A list of warning signs of unsafe driving is provided to
help drivers minimize their driving risk. The benefits of not driving a vehicle and suggestions of ways to
preserve one's independence without a license are also discussed.
• Creative Craft Class, with Anne Rasis Tuesday, October 18, 9:30-11:00 am Create a gift box that's a gift in
itself. First cover and image with teeny (1.5mm) clear glass marbles which will give the image a watercolor
look. Then we'll use the images to cover a small box. There will be a cost of$3.00 for the class and materials.

• Art History Slide Presentation and Lecture Series with Gershon Weisenberg. Friday, October 21, 2005 at
10:15 am . Women Artists of the 18th Century A brief introduction will be followed by a slide presentation, after

• Dietitian Discussions- "MY PYRAMID"Presented by Minuteman Senior Services Everyone is an individual.
The new My Pyramid is an attempt to personalize the Dietary Guidelines for Americans released earlier this
year.Peg Mikkola,RD,LDN,nutrition consultant with Minuteman Senior Services will ad dress the My Pyramid
and it's message to seniors, showing that You Can make a difference in your nutrition health. Please come with
your questions about any nutritional concerns. Thursday October 27, 2005 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the
Senior Center. There is no cost for this class. Please sign up with the receptionist.
• Love Chocolate?Join us for an Experience: CHOCOLATE Chocolate Tasting,Thursday,October 27 at 1:30
pm as we acquaint discerning chocolate lovers with premium chocolate brands and the factors that influence
their taste. Some chocolates have an immediate intense flavor that disappears quickly. Others can be initially
bland, with the flavor taking its time to explode and linger in your mouth.
Everyday flavor connections such as fruity, nutty, buttery, or spicy can be detected as you
• ,learn about cocoa content and began origin for each tasting selection. Cost is $5 person.Space
