The committee was in favor of using the Community Center when necessary. Veterans Breakfast, Saturday, November 4, 2017 • Bill Mix reported that the Minutemen Fife and Drum musicians have been practicing the military service songs and will be ready to perform them live at the breakfast. The live performance will replace the recorded music used previously. • Bill also reported that Gina Rada is ordering the Merchant Marine flag because she has the budget for it. • Lorain reported that the slide show will be finished soon. Linda Dixon would like to get the length of the slide show and Lorain suggested that Linda ask Ed LoTurco for that information. • Karen Gaughan and Kim Coburn showed the design for the sandwich board posters that will be displayed at St. Brigid's. Kim noted that since she added the Town of Lexington seal as a graphic in the posters, she needs to get approval from the Board of Selectmen to use the seal. • Lorain has ordered the food for 200 people for the breakfast. Other Reports Sponsorship Subcommittee: Suzanne updated the TCC on the progress made by the Patriots Day Parade sponsorship sub-committee and asked for a motion from the committee to approve the proposed changes (described below) to the sponsorship program. A motion was made and seconded to approve the plans, and the committee unanimously passed the motion. Proposed changes are to create a 5-tiered program that offers more benefits to companies that contribute more sponsorship money. The benefits that we are considering at this time primarily involve more publicity for the sponsors, in the form of articles in the local newspapers, listing of sponsors on the TCC web page, and live interviews on the day of the Parade from the reviewing stand. The specific marching units assigned to the sponsors will also be related to their contribution level, although we are committed to addressing the wishes of previous sponsors who have historically sponsored certain marching units. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Suzanne Caton, Co-Secretary Future Meetings 2017: November 1, November 8, November 15, November 29. 2018: January 10, January 24; February 7, February 21; March 7, March 14, March 21, March 28; April 4, April 11, April 25; May 2, May 16, May 23, June 6.
