Save the Date! "The Thriving Spirit of Alzheimer's. " Thursday, May 5, 9 am - 12 pm. National Heritage
Museum — Lexington. Minuteman Senior Services presents a very special caring conversation with the Reverend
Kathleen Rusnak, PhD. A frequent sentiment of many professional and family caregivers is that persons with ad-
vanced Alzheimer's disease have lost the essence of who they are. This belief can lead to a decrease in desire, time,
and energy caregivers invest with patients. Dr. Rusnack takes a deep look into the concept of personhood that sup-
ports this view and gives examples of its moral, ethical, and social consequences in history. Dr. Rusnak's alterna-
tive views challenge participants into a more spiritual analysis of human nature and worth. Please pre- register at
781- 221 -7067 or RSVPgminutemansenior.org. Suggested donation of $5. RN & SS CEUs available.

"Lexington Reads" Comes to the Senior Center.
This town -wide book club is aimed at bringing our diverse
town together around one great book and important ideas.
Lexington resident, Harvard Professor and Naturalist E.O.
Wilson's book "The Future of Life" has been chosen as the
book for this year. In addition to the educational and com-
munity- building goals, this particular book was chosen to
raise awareness of the critical environmental issues facing
us in the 21 st century. On Monday, April 4, from 10:30
to 12:00, there will be a discussion group at the Senior
Center on Wilson's book, led by members of the Lexing-
ton Reads committee. The book is available at the Senior
Center library, Cary Memorial Library, and Sundial Book-
store. Lexington Reads hope is that sharing a common
book among people of all ages in town adds richness and
depth to the experience of reading as well as fostering com-
munity. There are programs being held throughout the
schools on this book and its themes, as well as public
events for people of all ages. The program culminates at
Hancock Church on April 16 at 7:30 pm with a talk by Bill
McKibben, well -known environmentalist who grew up in
Lexington.
Library Lines ... The Library at the Senior Center has
a good selection of audio tapes for the pleasure of those
patrons who have visual difficulties. Even those who do
not have limited vision find a talking book a pleasant ex-
perience while doing other tasks around the house good
company! We would welcome more donations of these
talking books to add to our collection.
