HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-03-07-HPB-minLexington Housing Partnership Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, March 7, 2017 Attendees: Harriet Cohen, Nancy Corcoran-Ronchetti, Jeri Foutter, Paul Linton, Wendy Manz, Rich McDonough, Melinda Walker, Betsey Weiss Absent: Mary Haskell, Joe Pato, Bob Pressman Guests: The meeting was chaired by Melinda Walker and the minutes were taken by Harriet Cohen. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm. 1. Approval of minutes of January 26, 2017 Two minor updates were made to the minutes. Ms. Corcoran-Ronchetti moved approval of the December 15, 2016 minutes and Ms. Weiss seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. 2. Updates on projects/proposals with affordable housing implications / All No updates were provided. 3. Discussion of LexHAB activities/ Pressman and Walker Ms. Walker said that Todd Cataldo sold the last house at Keeler Farm. LexHAB signed the Purchase and Sale (P&S) agreement and should be able to close on the affordable unit at Keeler Farm in the spring. HOME funds will be available for the unit. LIP application for Busa housing project: Ms. Manz said the application had been sent to DHCD on Saturday. Ms. Walker sent in a letter in support of the Busa housing project on behalf of the Lexington Housing Partnership. 4. Discussion of CPA Project List for Annual Town Meeting 2017 / Pressman and Walker Currently on the CPA Project List: ■ Porches at Greeley Village (approved by CPA and Capital Expenditures and is on the Town Warrant) ■ The Judges Way housing is still being discussed in a CPC Executive Session. There are 16 units. 11 are low income/affordable; 5 are either Massachusetts Rental Vouchers (state) or Section 8 vouchers. 5. Update on changes to "charge" for partnership / Walker Ms. Walker and Ms. Vine finalized the changes to the LHP charge. The Board of Selectmen must approve the changes to the charge for the changes to take effect. 6. Discussion on upcoming meeting with COA / Weiss and Walker LHP is meeting with the Council on Aging on Wednesday, April 5 to discuss potential projects related to affordable housing for seniors. 7. Update on progress on studying "Smart Growth Zones" / Foutter No new information. Ms. Foutter is still waiting to meet with Aaron Henry and Carol Kowalski. The town has postponed the meeting several times due to other commitments. 8. New Business Lexington Housing Partnership Ms. Walker mentioned that Brookhaven will come up at Town Meeting. They will be giving a payment in lieu of affordable housing. It will be a substantial sum of money and is intended for affordable housing. Ms. Walker will contact Joe Pato and Suzie Barry to discuss possible uses for the money. 9. Set next meeting date The next meeting will be April 4, 2017 at 7:30 10. Meeting adjournment Ms. Foutter moved to adjourn the meeting, and Ms. Cohen seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
