1) Upon Motion Duly nude and seconded, it was unanimously voted by roll call to go
into executive session with the intent to return to public session in approximately 20
minutes.
2) The min utes for November 10, January 12, and February 5 were approved without
changes.
3) Liberty Ride
a) Upon motion duly made and second, the committee voted in favor of paying to
use the trolley in the Patriot's Day Parade but not for the TMMA bus tour. The
Celebrations Committee will be contacted to see if they could share in the use
and $320 expense.
b) Upon - motion duly made and seconded there was a vote in favor of renewing the
Liberty Ride ad M the Lexington/ concord Brochure.
C) Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted that the connnission paid
to vendors on the sale of tickets will be 10% of the ticket price.
d) Upon notion duly made and seconded, A proposal to increase the adult fare to
$25 while maintaining the $10 fee for children was approved since it will now
include admission to all three Lexington historic houses. The Historic society
will receive $3 for each adult admission redeemed and $1 for students not
including GoBoston customers. None of the Concord houses will be included.
e) Last gear's brochure was carefully reviewed and Dawn will communicate the
numerous changes to the printer.
f) Upon Motion duly made and seconded, The Ride will operate on April 18 & 19
of Patriots Day weekend and then begin the season on Satuday, May 23,
terminating on Saturday, October 31.
g) Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to purchase one portable
wireless credit card machine will be obtained from Century Bank.
h) The fuel adjustment request as part of the Liberty Fide contract is currently
under review.
i) Upon motion duly made and seconded, the wholesale prices for merchandise
featuring the Liberty Ride logo was agreed as follows: T- shirts will wholesale
for $10 ($8 cost), tote bags at $17 ($15.95 cost), and hats at $14 ($12.95 cost).
Vendors will be able to order exactly what they need without minimum amounts
and can set their own retail price. Liberty Ride staff and Battle Green guides can
purchase for the wholesale price.
4) The Town's FY2010 budget now proposes a line item of $15,000 to be used by the
Tourism Committee for various marketing Initiatives including the printing of
materials and advertising. Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Committee
voted in support of this recommendation. Deb Belanger of Merrimack valley Travel
and Tourism made a compelling presentation to the selectmen about the economic
impact of tourism on the local economy.
5) In response to President obarna's inaugural address, Selectman No Cohen wrote
the new President to correct his comment regarding the first patriots who died in
Concord.
6) The National Heritage Museum will not be able to host the GBCVB showcase.
7) The first meeting to begin. the Battle Green Master Plan process was well attended.
on February 5 by representatives from various committees with interests in the
Green. Members of the Tourism. Committee have agreed to head up the following
sub - committees
i) Susan Bennett: Cataloging and creating annotated bibliography of prior work

ii) Paul O'Shaughnessy: Design Coherence
iii) Joanne Myers: Other community models (May)
8} John Patrick and Tony Galaitis visited Antony, France January 31 and February 1
where they had working sessions with numerous city officials and citizens to plan
for the upcoming 10 -year anniversary of our sister city relationship. The current
thought is for a visit to France around September 19, 2009 followed by an April
Patriots Day visit to Lexington in 2010.
9) Dawn has been working with DPW who wants to order signs of our design for the
three historic cemeteries. A sign for the Belfry is under consideration but lacks a
funding source.
10) Paul O`Shaughnessy reported that the Tower Park plan for the re-- enactment on
April 18 at 4PM has been submitted to the selectmen. They are still seeking almost
$1500 in funding. Descendents of John Parker will be attending and we will try to
make special arrangements for them.
11) The meeting was adjourned at 6:50pm. Next meeting Monday, March 9th- at 4:00
p.m.
