Lexington Housing Partnership
Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, July 11, 2017
Attendees: Jeri Foutter, Mary Haskell, Rich McDonough, Bob Pressman, Melinda Walker, Betsey Weiss
Absent: Harriet Cohen, Nancy Corcoran-Ronchetti, Paul Linton, Wendy Manz, Joe Pato
Guests: Gerald Paul
Melinda Walker chaired the meeting and recorded the meeting minutes. The meeting was called to
order at 7:40 pm.
1. Approval of Minutes of June 6, 2017.
Several corrections were made to the minutes. Mr. Pressman moved approval of the June 6, 2017
minutes and Ms. Foutter seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
2. Update: Pine Grove/Judges Way / Walker.

a condominium. To date, the details of the conversion are as follows: MassHousing will make a loan

costs for the common areas. MassHousing will have a 15-year disposition agreement. There will be
-occupied units and the remaining
five (5) units will be conveyed to the Lexington Housing Authority as low-income rental (voucher)
units.
3. Goal Setting Response.
Mr. Pressman reported that the LHP goal-setting memorandum caused some consternation on the
part of the LexHAB board. Ms. Walker expressed her feelings of remorse at having offended LexHAB
board members. Ms. Walker felt strongly that she should contact LexHAB members to apologize for
any misunderstanding; a lively discussion followed. A member made a motion to authorize Ms.
Walker to apologize to LexHAB; another member seconded the motion and the motion passed,
three (3) in favor and two (2) against. Following the vote Ms. Haskell reiterated her feelings that an
apology was not necessary.
4. Report on Meeting with Lex At Home
Ms. Walker attended a Lex at Home meeting at the Community Center on June 20. Ms. Walker
reported that she described a bit of the history of the partnership to the group and then conducted
attendees to get a sense of their interest in developing new senior
housing in Lexington. Most of the attendees wished to stay in their homes, although some were
expecting to make plans to move into an assisted-living facility.
5. Looking Forward.
This agenda item was not discussed due to the late hour of the evening.

6. New Business.
Gerry Paul reviewed (again) his meeting with Jennifer Van Campen (Metro West Collaborative
Development. Mr. Paul requested that the partnership request for CPA funding
for a feasibility study on the options for developing mixed-income senior housing on town-owned
land, specifically the parking lot behind Depot Square. A board member moved the motion; the
motion was seconded by another member, and the motion passed unanimously.
7. Next Meeting.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. There will not be a meeting in August.
8. Meeting adjournment
The meeting was adjourned some time after 9 PM.
