Michelson (Chair), Pamela Shadley
Liaisons: Joe Pato, BOS, Megan Zammuto, EDC

1.Dave Pinsonneault, DPW: New center trees are in, and the weeding is done. The
NSTAR gas project has 5-6 weeks to go. The restriping of the Depot Lot awaits
the recommendations of a consultant. In FY 2019 there will be a full review of the
CVS lot with construction anticipated in FY 2021. Attention will be turned to the
municipal lot after it is known how the police station will play out. DPW hopes
to bring the Streetscape Plan to the Spring 2018 Town Meeting. Howard inquired
if there was some way to incorporate the Town Conscience Land (corner of
Fletcher/Woburn/Mass Ave) into the larger plans that are now underway.
2.Megan Zammuto, EDD update: Megan alerted us to the presence of more street
furniture in the center Ï in front of the library and the Visitors' Center. GMA does
not appear to be much used this summer. Fred noted that he and Melisa had met
with Paul Mammola. Paul and his associates are agreeable to the TownÔs
building a sidewalk adjacent to their building from Edison Way to Mass Ave.
The Town Manager is looking into a land swap with the Lexington Historical
Society regarding the tricky triangular piece of property that occupies some of
the Ñbike nodeÒ space. Megan circulated a memo describing the Bike Share
Initiative. Three locations were floated. By a 4-2 vote the Center Committee
supports the location at the corner of Mass Ave and Merriam Street. By a 6-0
vote the Center Committee supports the Bike Share pilot.
3. The Center Committee approved the minutes, subject to non-substantive edits, of
the July, 2017 meeting by a 6-0 vote.
