HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-08-23-LEXHAB-minMINUTES Minutes of the meeting held at the offices of LexHAB at 1620 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington on August 23, 2017 There were present at the meeting the Chairman Bill Kennedy, Vice-chairman, Bob Burbidge, Bill Hays, Lester Savage, Martha Wood , Donna Leary, Bob Phelan and Henry Liu, Also present were Pat Nelson, LexHAB counsel. Not present was Gerry Howell The chairman presided. The meeting opened at 7:06 a.m. 1. Minutes The minutes for the meeting on July 2017 were approved as presented. Motion to accept the minutes was made and seconded, motion passed. 2. Financials No Financial report this month 3. Busa Farm A. Discussions were had about the constructions process, cost of building material etc. It was summarized that the cost per unit will be more than what was paid for Fairview. Busa has more site work than Fairview, material is more expensive and the cost associated with public bidding will drive up prices. B. RFQ'S bids are back. The task force met with the architects to review the proposals submitted. We received 3 really good proposals. 4. Fairview A. Grand opening went well, lots of Town members came and several neighbors too. The homes looked beautiful. The occupancy permits have been issued for the 3 Family. We are waiting for the single family permit. Seeding, asphalt and miscellaneous items left. 5. Wright Farm Discussions about public bidding for demolition were discussed. We are anxious to get the Minuteman Tech kids involved. Discussions about the P& S, comprehensive permit, lot design and architects were had. 6. Keeler Farm A. Metro West is preparing advertising for selection of tenants 7. Policy Task Force The Policy Task force met and are discussing issues raised by the Town monitoring report for DHCD approved units including: review of the tenant application and lease renewal process and coordination of our policies with our new property management software 8. Other Matters Reorganization has started, we are working on the new software and hope to have it up and running in a few weeks. The new director position was discussed, and what qualifications are needed. We would like to use a task force to interview potential candidates. David Errico would like to speak with the board about affordable home ownership. 9. Next Meeting The next meeting of the LexHAB Board, will be held at the LexHAB offices at 1620 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington at 7:OOam on September 14, 2017 10. Executive Session The chairman then proposed that the Board go into executive session to consider tenant matters, stating that consideration of same in open session could have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of a semi-public body, namely LexHAB, And might also affect adversely the privacy rights of tenants and that the Board not return open session at the end except to adjourn.
