Reports/Updates:
• 0 Grove St - Mike & Eileen attended the June 7 Planning Board meeting at which the devel-
oper presented a modified Public Benefit Development plan that has a slightly smaller foot-
print and preserves a bit more of the tree canopy. This plan maintained the trail connections
we are concerned about. This proposal will come up again at the June 21 Planning Board
meeting - Peggy will attend.
• Keith noted that if we talk to a developer in the future, we should apprise the Planning Board.
• Mike reported on the discussion with Aaron Henry regarding the Lincoln St development and
the decision by the City of Cambridge to withdraw permission for a bridge over the brook. It
is in the hands of the lawyers now. Aaron suggested we check back after he has a chance to
meet with Town Counsel. If we cannot get that bridge, perhaps we can arrange for the devel-
oper to fund work on the Lincoln St/Weston St intersection instead.
• Route H is all signed. There is some work still to be done at Marrett and Lincoln, leading to
Idylwilde. Glenn Parker noted that the intersection behind Bridge School is confusing. There
is a lot of Japanese Knotweed along Shade St, and into Hayden Woods from Munroe Rd.
The sign at Coppersmyth Way is not in the most visible spot, but that is where the residents
wanted it to be placed.
Ongoing Business:
• The next Route - J - will be, based on votes, Liberty Heights/West Farm/Sutherland
Woods/Bowman Park. There can be Bikeway access via Ellen Dana Ct, though the cross-
walk on Mass Ave may be moved when the present construction is completed. Keith will
send a Doodle Poll to organize a scouting walk.
• Keith will draft a letter seeking Dana Home Funds for a “Senior Trail” at the Community Cen-
ter.
• The Town website still has old maps, though the new one, including Route H is available with
enough clicks. Susan has put the most updated map on the Facebook page.
New Business:
• Keith will put the old MAPC presentation in Dropbox to begin preparing for the Mass Trails
Conference presentation. Those interested will meet June 16 to begin updating the power-
point.
• Glenn Parker’s map, developed for the Alzheimer’s fundraising walk, is nice, but is it neces-
sary for us to have another/different map? Perhaps we can use it for publicity.
• GCC may want to be involved in potential upcoming Zoning Bylaw revisions - proposing a
requirement for developers to create trail connections. We should reach out to Aaron Henry
and Richard Canale, PB chair.
Pending Items:
•Garfield St abutter indemnity
•Seasonal trail maintenance on non-Conservation properties
