Present:
Chair, Betsey Weiss, Joel Adler, Norman Cohen, Marilyn Fenollosa, Wendy

1. Munroe Fire Suppression Project was discussed. Question was asked – Do we
give TM a chance to decide on this project? If the majority of the CPC votes in
the affirmative, then TM can decide if they want to fund the project with CPA
funds or have the Town borrow money for the project instead. A motion was
made to support the Town’s request for a fire suppression system at Munroe for
up to $579,550 from CPA funds. The motion was approved 5-4 (Adler, Manz,
Pagett, Wolk) in favor.
2. Discussion of CPC administrative cost. Betsey agreed to ask Jim C. what he
means by his question “Do other Town committees receive comparable funds for
administrative support?” Under the CPA, the CPC has statutory authorization to
hire administrative help.
3. Project Summary Review
a. Judy will edit the Parker Manor vote count to accurately reflect CPC’s
vote of 8-0-1.
b. A motion was made to reduce the amount recommended for the Town
Office Building Use Study & Renovation Design project from $100,000 to
$80,000 to reflect the elimination of construction administration. The
motion was approved 7-2 (Fenollosa, Pagett). The amount recommended
is now $80,000. Betsey will email Carl about the change.
c. The earliest the CPC article and projects are likely to be before TM is
st
March 26 and even more likely, March 31.
d. Pertaining to land acquisition, Dick was hopeful that by March 17, he
would know whether or not there would be a viable land parcel.
The next meeting was tentatively set for Monday, March 24, 2008. The meeting was
adjourned at 5:16 p.m.
