Present: Betsey Weiss, Chair; Joel Adler, Norm Cohen, Marilyn Fenollosa, Wendy Manz, Leo McSweeney, Richard Pagett, Judy Pearson, Sandy Shaw, Dick Wolk. David Kanter, CEC Liaison was also present. The agenda of the meeting was to continue reviewing and voting on FY2009 CPC Proposals – namely the School Administration Building/Old Harrington project and the Munroe Center for the Arts Fire Prevention System Replacement project. Pat Goddard, Tom Diaz and Fire Chief, Bill Middlemiss attended to answer questions and to provide additional project information. The meeting began at 4:00 p.m. and discussion was as follows: 1. School Administration Building/Old Harrington: Patrick Goddard, Director of Facilities and Grounds and Tom Diaz, Chair of the School Committee answered questions and further outlined the project. The Committee supported a motion to reduce the requested amount from $350,000 to $330,000 and subsequently voted 7-2 (Fenollosa, Pagett) in favor of supporting the School Department’s request for $330,000. 2. Munroe Center for the Arts Fire Prevention System Replacement : Fire Chief, Bill Middlemiss answered questions. The Committee voted 8-1 (Pagett) in favor of supporting a PLACEHOLDER for this project. If the Selectmen make a final decision on this property, the CPC will revote. 3. Stone Building Renovation : The Committee voted unanimously in favor of this project having a PLACEHOLDER. 4. Land Acquisition : The Committee voted unanimously to support this project having a PLACEHOLDER. The placeholder article is contingent upon a specific property being named before the Warrant is printed. 5. CPC Administrative Expenses : The Committee voted unanimously to support the use of $50,000 for administrative expenses. A motion to approve the Public Hearing Minutes of 12/6/07 and 12/20/07, with corrections, was supported unanimously by the Committee.
